Question Service after coding

Going in for service soon. What do I need to be aware of so that my coding is not reset to default values? Will I need to avoid software updates? Thanks.

I too would be curious to know after doing some coding today.

I asked my dealer to please not update the software last year and they complied. Also have my Valentine 1 power run into the diagnostics port and when they saw that in addition to my request to not update software the service manager immediately came out and asked me what "engine mods I was running"...had to go show him that unplugging the V1 actually turned off the V1 and then he was cool with it, and let me know that they install Dinan upgrades but only had stage 1 and not 2 at the time...which is cool that he's obviously into these cars (has a sick M5 as well).

Will plan on asking them not to update the software again this year when I go in because I don't want the new exhaust system programming, or for the update to "break" anything that is already working...but yes fine to ask them not to update the software, but be prepared to give reasons...

I own my car, so not sure if a leased vehicle if they can force the update...

Just let the service go as planned and code again if needed. M3/M4s aren't at the dealership regularly to make this an issue. On the flip side, there aren't any critical updates required at this moment.

I did the same thing, and they were happy to comply as it's less work for them
No questions asked, no changes made.

In the worst case, you would need to re-download latest psdzdata and re-code.

Honestly, with cheat codes available for a lot of the things we code, it's not such a hassle as it used to be... Especially if software updates do fix some real issues. My 2 cents.
