Rear hip touch up? Chicago land area paint shop?

Hey there,

I made a big mistake and didn't have the rear hips of my f80 ppf'ed prior to driving and now obviously I have some marks on the rear fender flares. Has anyone had any luck getting that particular part of the vehicle repainted? If so any good shop recommendations in the Chicago land area?

I was told if I apply PPF now with some marks on the fenders it may not look good...so just curious if I should get it repainted and then apply the PPF.

Any thoughts and insights would be great! Much appreciated.

A & L Auto Body in Palatine gets pretty solid reviews from this forum. It's the sister company to IND Distribution, who's also pretty well known on this forum for their painted BMW accessories. I have bought painted parts from IND, but have not used A & L Auto Body.

If it's blended in by a mobile repair person it's cheaper but application of ppf May life it when removed. No biggie as the film will last ages.

Full respray is more expensive and colour matching can be problematic. You have to wait at least 4 weeks for outgassing after a respray before applying ppf.
