brake sensor?

I am too cheap to fork out $30 for a new brake sensor and broke a wire on mine while I was taking it out. The older cars all just required the two wires to be tied together and everything was fine.

Is this different or do I need to do something else to clear dash light/startup error?

apparently it is odometer reset hold for a while, select brakes to reset, and hold again for a while. e90's were the same way more or less
