Help with Suspension Please

I have a new to me CPO 2015 F80 M3, 6M non EDC with 19's & 40,000 miles, love the power but the front wheel gap is too large and overall suspension & handling is confused at best! I've had about every kind of suspension mod from cut coils on my e36 328i, to eibach's e36 M3, H&R Race Springs & Koni Yellows, e46 330i to KW V1 Coilovers on my e90 335ix. I like a firm stable feel & am pretty sure this is going to need more than springs to fix. Would greatly appreciate any feedback from folks that have upgraded to coilovers or springs/dampers.

Really depends on your overall objective for the car. Are you going to be tracking the car at all. Is a really stiff suspension with no dampening adjustability ok with you? Is keeping the EDC important to you (if you have it)?

I have no EDC just stock 3 bolt M3 6M, probably no track days, I still have my e90 335ix with KW V1's I drove it the other day to compare to my F80 and it just feels more planted and better damped, and it's quite a bit lower! I bought my e90 with 3300 miles in 11 and it has 171,000 now, I drive a lot of highway miles for work so I want a car that handles great, I put the V1's on at about 20,000 because the thing plowed like a John Deere when pushed but now it's great.

I would start with M Performance HAS kit with spacers and see if that meets your needs. If not, then move up to some sort of coilover. The HAS kit does just enough to make the car handle and look great without the sacrifices in ride quality.

If you're going to spend the money on M Performance HAS, just fork over the extra couple hundred for KW V3. Plenty of installs on here and everyone seems to be very happy with it as long as you can tolerate the pretty large rear drop. I would have gone with them if I didn't have EDC. Just didn't want to remove a feature that came with my car.

Thank you, I really like the KW-V1's on my 335ix except for the rear being too low and when one of the fronts blew a seal they rebuilt both free of charge. Also looking at Bilstein B16 and ISC CO's due to lower cost.

I have the B16 Damptronic. I'd say overall the reviews are good to mixed. A bit stiffer but car is much more stable and planted. You can get the passive PSS10 kit for not too much more than a M Performance HAS kit. The labor for install will be basically the same, so might as well rip the shocks out while you or someone else will be under there.

Yep, I agree and your description is exactly how all my past suspension changes felt, stiffer but much more planted and I would add upgraded dampers usually take out some of the bounce. Thanks again for the feedback!

First and foremost, get your i-step software updated by your dealer. this made the biggest difference in handling. better traction, progressive breakaway, more compliant, it was like a brand new car. Mine was on the original 2015 software and I updated last year when I got the car. night and day difference.
