The "Later" is for the Map OTA update. My Map updated as well recently in the last week. Its now on CA, HI, NV 2017-2-SR1. the SR1 is a revision to the 2017-2. You can check in the Map Settings for Map Version and Scroll to see the OTA Update Version.

The update above, updated the HMI or the Media Interface for iPhones (I believe).

Updates now available

Looks like new updates for MY18 are now available if you have versions 006.001.0044 or 006.006.006.

Software update newer than 5074 for 2015 M4?

received a generic email from my dealer offering $200 software update with a link to the standard BMW software update site - according to that site, the latest update version is UPD5074 (has been that for a couple of years) - here's a screenshot of my installed software (2015 M4) - is there, in fact, a later version? Thanks!

Thanks - that's helpful - given how long it's been since that version's been available, I'm guessing that's gonna be it for my 2015....

Mine is a 2015 and I have a later version. I recently purchased a CPO car and part of the process is to update the software to the latest versions. Here is my screen shot. What I don't have is the Add On line, is that extended bluetooth?

That's interesting - so perhaps there's an update available online somewhere that I can't find....
I coded 6NS in my 2015 M4, so probably that is extended bluetooth

What are the benefits and features of these updates, particularly for early model F8Xs?

Do these updates override any coding that has been done?

These particular updates are primarily for phone compatibility. There are lots of updates for the other car systems as well, such as Nav, ECU, various other computers (steering, AC, etc.)

On my 18 F80 (manufactured 6/18) The UPD09032.bin is not compatible. Currently installed software for both Telephone and Media is TB-006.017.006 and MB-006.017.006.

yes, thanks - there hasn't been an updated software for my 15 M4 using my VIN on that site for a couple of years - in post #72 above I included a screenshot of my software version from upd05074 using that site - although it seems from subsequent posts that there are more recent versions of the software - that's all I was trying to get, but cannot get it using my VIN on the site you posted.

I just updated my '16 F80 using UPD09032.bin. The media and telephone versions were not changed, but gave me the add-on HB-001.062.032. I guess I need to figure out what exactly has changed with this add-on.
