Throw out bearing.. I don't hear it really on my 6MT though. Compared to the 350z I used to own, that car had a loud throw out bearing sound. Same thing, quiet when pedal depressed.

same tranny in g35....one of the most tempermental manuals I've driven. long clutch, and very easily one of the hardest cars to learn on. It was so clunky. god I miss her.

For sure, people that drove manuals for many years would sometimes stall the Z / G. Lol. Some hated that transmission, but outside of the synchro issues pre-revision versions and the retarded slave cylinder in the later HR motors, I actually enjoyed how direct / notchy the gates were. If you can shift easily on that long clutch with dead spots and high clutch engagement point, you can drive any other manual transmission though..

On my 2010 M3 I started hearing it about 4 yrs in, but nothing crazy. On my 18 m4, nothing at all now. You can take it to the dealer and they'll tell it's nothing and these cars make noise and they're right. Although "pretty audible" in cabin is kinda too much, come to think of it, I'd only heard mine with the window open. Might worth checking it out...

New Ms on dealer lots make the noise if you listen close enough. When the throw out bearing goes bad, there will be no question...it gets quite loud. These M trannies and clutches seem pretty stout...I wouldn't worry.
