Was told by a dealer in idrive you can disable it but he never mentioned anything about the new version key fob going to sleep.

I just keep my key in an RFID pouch all day, protects the key from scratches and renders comfort access totally useless.

Win, win. I asked my local dealer about those 70% discount new key fobs with the comfort access disable and they just said they hadn't a clue what I was talking about and in conclusion wanted £300 off me for a new key.

Can anyone with comfort access confirm if this can be disabled within idrive as I need to get back to the dealer if incorrect.

I have never seen that as a feature in Idrive. Just get a faraday bag or that thing I posted above and don't worry about it

I searched on the iDrive and couldn't find an option to disable Comfort Access. The manual also doesn't mention the disabling/enabling option.

I'm curious, why do you want to disable Comfort Access? I actually selected that option when ordering the car and it wasn't cheap (in my country there are no packages, it's all individual options). I love not having to touch the key at all.

Looking into an 2019 M4 but it has comfort access which the dealer told me it can be disabled with in the settings in idrive. With all the security horror story doing the round with cars with comfort access being easily taken using scanning devices.

Mine is a 2019. I have a tracking device (https://gpslive.co.uk) hidden inside the car so I'm not too worried about that. Besides, the insurance covers theft

i dont get the issue... go down to dealer and as for the key to a 2019 m4 and do the wait test. put lock the car and put the key on the roof.. wait 5 mins and try the handle. if it doesnt open you have the latest key and thus no issue

Think I’ll go down that route with a tracker, did your insurance asked if the car has comfort access. Will also try to get to a dealer this weekend and find out about these new keys fob’s as well.
