F80 M3 audio

Has anyone here successfully upgraded their HK premium audio? I don’t think it particularly sounds that premium.

I was thinking of going a Audison setup.

Interested to learn what others have actually done.

I'm so glad you mentioned this. I think it sounds horrible. I was literally driving yesterday thinking to myself, "why does this sound so bad". I would be interested in hearing what you decide to do. I haven't changed the sound system in a car since the 1990s LOL

I Replaced my HK with BAV SOUND Stage1. I didnt get the Ghost speakers under the Seats because I decided to put a 10" JBL SUB in my trunk with its own JBL 700WATT Amp. i have a Vert and its a Night and Day difference in sound. Everything looks stock since the BAV Sound speakers are a Direct Replacement with the HK. They have a Bigger Magnet and are made of better quality. You can literally put your volume all the way up and the sound will not distort unlike what you get with HK.

I went with audison replacement.

Without an Amp and on flat EQ, the improvement is night and day with the Audison Prima APBMW range. Just need to let the speakers wear in.

We put Roadkill deadening under the subs and in the doors as well.

I’ll post up the install video by Phatt Audio Concepts (Braeside) soon

Loving the sound quality.

From the photos the Audison upgrade does not replace all the HK speakers- is that correct?

Does it it get loud enough?

How long was it in the shop for and what did it cost you?

Yes it does mate. That was just some of the pics I took. There is install video in the making.

It does “get loud enough” 😂

I let the shop have my car for the day, I’m not the type of customer that wants this type install rushed and the shop actually give a damn about their craft. This set up is upwards of $3.9k drive in drive out

I actually did the full upgrade today on my 2016 BMW 320.
Stock was HiFi and had a JL Audio VX600 AMP + Full Audison speaker setup...tweeters 4 inch SW underseats. The whole thing.

Ran just over $4200. I can't put into words how night and day difference it is from top to bottom. It's literally unlike anything you've heard if you can make it happen. If you do, make sure to spend the cash and have DSP professionally tuned!

Replaced all speakers, tweeter, underseat sub to focal made for bmw. With JL audio W3 subs. Thumps harder and clearer than my local rap strip club.
