Coilovers vs Springs

Just wondering if some of you guess could give me some suggestions on my suspension choice. The worst thing about the M4, in my opinion, is the 4X4 stock ride height. Im definitely looking to lower the car with spacers to have a more "fit" look. The thing is I don't want to make the handling any worse (sometime springs offset center of gravity), but I also don't track the car. Im basically looking for something that will give me the looks of a drop, but keep the handling just as good or better. Would springs/ height adjustable springs be good for daily driving or will I regret not just going with coils? Thanks for the advice!

Coils are better than springs unless those springs are matched with proper shocks which are not on the market.

Proper offset wheels are better than spacers. I personally cannot stand spacers and can feel them on any car I've ever driven with them.

It all depends on budget in the end.

personally I would wait for swift springs or dinan to come out with springs. you need to lower the car as little as possible, otherwise the ride will suck

I don't really like KW shocks a lot, but v3 will ride better than any springs on the market currently.

the best coilover option will be ohlins when they come out, but that will be years away imo

cliffs : no good options out there right now IMO. I plan to retrofit the zcp springs and struts when they become available

KW V3. Much better performance than stock. Drop looks great. Ohlins still 1 yr out and overkill if not tracking

On my E90/E92s, the Ohlins rode significantly better than my KW V3s or clubsports. (I've owned many suspensions for the E9x)

On the F80, the KW V3 ride AMAZINGLY well, better than the Ohlins on my E9x. I switched from H&Rs to the KW V3 and I'm totally happy with the spend. You should be able to get ~15% off the KW if you shop around, but they are 10X more expensive than the H&Rs. I haven't even used the adjustors yet, which is surprisingly because I played a LOT with the KW V3 on my E92.

Thanks everyone for the responses. Money is not so much the issue, I'd just rather not spend money on something thats way overkill and will probably end up being a waste. I think my best bet is to wait for more options as some have said

Coilovers or go for eibach springs. They lower car very decent F0.8/R0.2 Center of gravity wont offset and OEM shocks will have less stress if any becouse of sportier spring rates
