Bloody hell! How did that happen? Looks really nasty.

I'll open the bidding at £6.5K - Done by BMW. £4K Independent bodyshop.

£20k

I've seen the video of the collision though, so feel I have an unfair advantage!

Yikes! Sorry to see this mate! What happened!?

I’m going with £14k purely based on what’s been said above

Interim result is in - £17k minimum repair including replacement of the smashed differential.

The engineer has deemed it an uneconomical repair and written it off.

Bye bye my love...

I thought that initially....

Then when reading the work required included fuel tank, subframe, diff, strut mounts, straightening of the car etc.... I'd rather not have it back.

It'll be back on the road for someone by the end of the year though.

Wow! The photo's alone clearly didn't elude to the level of damage. Please reassure us you have a good GAP policy...

Dropped in to collect some bits out of the car and had a chat to the estimator.

The cats were destroyed and apparently the engine started making a 'clicking' noise when he pulled it out of the workshop. He reckons there's engine damage as well as this damage to the boot floor.

EDIT: and yes, I have replacement vehicle GAP.

I wonder what the cost would be to buy this back from insurance?
Probably end up on a salvage auction as a category car

I think it’s for the best. Good to hear really, you don’t want that horrible nagging feeling and the months of waiting for it. Why I’d never go for a cat D or C.
