Interim result is in - £17k minimum repair including replacement of the smashed differential.

The engineer has deemed it an uneconomical repair and written it off.

Then when reading the work required included fuel tank, subframe, diff, strut mounts, straightening of the car etc.... I'd rather not have it back.

It'll be back on the road for someone by the end of the year though.

Wow! The photo's alone clearly didn't elude to the level of damage. Please reassure us you have a good GAP policy...

Dropped in to collect some bits out of the car and had a chat to the estimator.

The cats were destroyed and apparently the engine started making a 'clicking' noise when he pulled it out of the workshop. He reckons there's engine damage as well as this damage to the boot floor.

EDIT: and yes, I have replacement vehicle GAP.

Probably end up on a salvage auction as a category car
