Chevy / Holden SS experience?
Any here own a Chevy SS before or after having an M3/M4?
I do love my SS for many reasons but at times find it too big. Been considering a M3 to replace it. Does anyone have enough seat time and want to speak to the differences and driving dynamics? I love a good sleeper, although my colors isn't exactly boring. |

My buddy had one: 2016 with a manual. Rebadged to Holden. It feels heavy, bloated and the technology sucks. That screen is from 1999. The engine feels powerful but also lazy. Hard to explain. Seats are wide and offer little side support.
But the engine note wins over the M3 any day! I would NOT trade my M3 for it. |

IIRC the benchmark for the SS was e39 M5.
I test drove one before ordering my M3 and loved it, loved the M3 more. |

I lot of people here in Oz love them however there's a reason they're no longer built....
A mate of mine has the supercharged GTS here and we've been on a few drives, I've driven it a couple of time etc. He's had a fair amount of work done to is and it's putting out near 700rwhp, the sound is epic! For a big car it goes well but it's just not able to stay with my car when their is a series of corners. Surprisingly when we've come out of a intersection and both nailed it the straight line performance is parity, I have a stage one tune but still down over 200hp... he's 300kg heavier and manual vs DCT. Overall I'm with others, I wouldn't even consider buying one, too big and not a fan of the interior. |

There's so much to hate about the Chevy SS... But I love it so much
I really am not sure why though, I think because it feels raw and mechanical compared to the M3. My old man has a UTE with a manual gearbox and a crazy loud and raspy exhaust note, and I always use it over my M3 DCT whenever I go to visit. |
