Action camera recommendations

I'm looking to record some roll races from the exterior of my car and would like to know what people are using. Specifically camera make/model and mounts. Would prefer a camera that is waterproof without an added case but if not it's not a deal breaker, minimum 1080@60fps, easy to operate interface/app, good battery life and good video quality.

I've never done video recording of this type so ease of use is important and a setup that is relatively inexpensive as it won't get used often and will be a "starter" setup for me.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

GoPro is the most common camera. I use GoPro with suction cup mount.

Thank you for the input. I was researching Gopro but wasn't sure what model I needed. Are there specific options I need? What model are you using?

Get the Hero 7. Hypersmooth is really worth it.

OP, I’ve been researching this a bit lately and darielsantana is right: Hero 7, but get the black version. I’ve been hearing/reading less-than-stellar things about the white and silver versions.

great thing about Go Pro is that it syncs with the M-Laptimer App so you can have video record yourself driving on the track and it incorporates other telemetry data like speed, g force, time, etc.

Applies to Hero 4(?), 5, 6, and 7(?) models. I'm unsure about 4 and 7 hero black.

First I’ve heard of this Dragy unit you mention. Very interesting!
