Alignment needed?
Hey guys, I just replaced my two front tires. When I got to the tire shop, the tech measured both front tires and they said both front tires had more wear on the inside portion of the tires. The middle of both tires measured at 5/32 and the inside portion had more wear... about 2/32
Is this wear normal for a 2018 F80 competition? My car drives normal and straight. Is an alignment necessary? |

The factory alignment has around -1.3 degree of negative camber that is not adjustable. Depending on how the car is driven that could be normal wear. If you drive it hard around corners like on a track that amount of camber will cause wear on the outside edge as the tire will rollover on the outer edge. Driving normally around town that is not bad wear, and besides the front camber is not adjustable with the factory suspension.

Assuming you don't have high -ve camber (non-stock), your toe might be off from hitting potholes etc. I'd get a proper alignment done from a reputable shop.

I'm in the exact situation as you are. Just switched out my front tires and they were found to wear thinner on the insides. My car does veer very slightly to the right.
I drive mostly non-aggressively on the streets/freeways, but have done a good number of spirited backroad drives in the last 4-5 months. Let us know what your tire shop says and how your alignment goes! |

Despite the common misconception, camber does not usually wear tires unless it is extreme (-4 degrees stance BS) provided the toe can be adjusted back to spec. Toe eats tires. Have a competent shop align the car for you. |

Here are the alignment results:
The left front and rear toe were off, which explains the excessive wear. A Any thoughts on this alignment? Are the front and rear total toe good for normal street driving? Last edited by teamm_ap1; 02-26-2021 at 01:54 PM.. |

Your left front and left rear toe were out quite a bit. They got both of those back in spec, and cleaned up the rear total toe quite a bit. You should feel the difference from those.
