Stoked to be in the club...

After owning three Mustangs, I finally took the plunge and got a new to me M3. I’ll admit I’ve been doing much lurking/research before purchasing, but felt like it was time to come out of the shadows now that I’ve bought one. I’ve been in the market for a new car for a bit, and was struggling with the idea of giving up a manual to drop a deposit on a C8, but the universe intervened and solved my conundrum in the way of a pregnant wife. No two seater for me, but I’m keeping the stick.

After the news and speaking with some fathers that assured me the kid will be in my car more than I’m probably planning, it was basically between an M3, a Chevy SS, and an ATS-V. The SS is too ugly, and while the ATS-V was a very fun car to drive, had a very suspect interior for the price and a straight hateful gauge cluster. That thing’s gauge cluster is basically a bean counter middle finger to the buyer. It’s like a mid-90’s Chevy Cavalier with an LCD stuck in the bottom. GM will never cease to amaze me with their ability to get 98% there, and then absolutely crap the bed with an astounding deal breaker they expect people to just accept. I mean, it’s the thing you look at most...

Anyhoo, an M3 became available in the L.A. market with low miles, and significant time left on the warranty, that was, to a tee, how I’d ordered one new, so I jumped on it. I’ll admit I miss the the sound of the Coyote V8, but don’t miss the sound of every single cheap plastic interior trim piece rubbing against each other, bushings made of marshmallows, and the fear that comes with driving a car where all four wheels often feel like they’re pointed in different directions. I look forward to gleaning knowledge from you fine folks. I attached a pic and a pic of it with my monster E30...

Going to leave the drivetrain alone while it's under warranty, and honestly, maybe it's because it's still new to me, I don't feel it's lacking for power, and I'm not sure there's anything I could do to the suspension that wouldn't make it worse. I did a lot of suspension upgrades on my Mustangs because there were obvious things that needed upgraded, but I don't feel any of that with the M3.

I might do some cosmetic mods like some subtle carbon bits here and there and will def do a clear bra, but right now, I'm really just enjoying the car. That said, I know the mods will come once I start getting used to things...

Congrats!! I just hopped into a Tanzanite Blue M4 this month coming from a Black Sapphire Metallic 435i.

On both cars, the first thing I did was get IND paint matched front reflectors. The orange is a personal eye sore. Something to consider.
