It is Free. Well, I was able to download it and flash it free.

Maybe, if you have already downloaded the Beta version earlier, then the new updated version is free... and if you never used the beta, maybe it is not.

I can’t test as I did use the beta earlier (and it was Free); and the updated version is Free as well.

Maybe someone else can chime in...

Quick question:

Have you tried downloading it? Or are you referring to the fact that it does not have the FREE tag?

Just a quick question. I'm new to the platform. I'm planning to purchase BM3 and install downpipes straight away with the stage 2.
Does BM3 take care of the CEL light when placing downpipes?

UPDATE: Map configuration screen descriptions for all settings and values available.

This should help those using the screen for the first time get a sense of what the values are if or when they may not be clear. I realize some of you will enjoy these being added right in the screen even though all of them are documented in the actively maintained bootmod3 User Manual.

Yes. But you'd lose your previous tune.

What exactly is the tune you have installed currently?

Ah yes! I had this! Around 5000rpm with 60% throttle. Great news if fixed.

Is there any problem if we keep the exhaust valves closed?

Not really, they will open at 100% pedal input.

Using other OTS maps, etc.

***************************************
A bit long and a mix of questions - sorry... please bear with me. Thanks.
***************************************

I am enjoying using BM3 on my 435i with the Stage 1 91 octane OTS map. It's great for the clear performance improvement it brings and the burble control (sorry to those who object -- it's still cool to me). The Stage 1 91 Octane map is impressive.

I am wondering how much "bad" could happen in using more aggressive OTS maps. My 435i has an aftermarket charge pipe, intercooler and cat-back exhaust. I have not gone to a cat-less downpipe, mostly from thoughts about passing CA SMOG. (I know it's possible to get a successful test --- or the downpipe can be swapped back to OEM, but that's all more expense than I'm ready for now.)

My questions -
Just how much difference might there be with the BM3 OTS Stage 1 and Stage 2 maps -- with a car setup like mine, like no cat-less downpipe? I am guessing that damage is unlikely if I *tried* a Stage 2 OTS map. I'm getting setup to be able to log some data, so that can help me assess this.

Re the OTS maps for Stage 1 91 octane and Stage 1 ACN91 octane -- I used to work for Chevron. I was not directly involved in gasoline blending but from my limited knowledge I think a strong name brand premium gasoline (in California), like Chevron or Shell, will in fact be legit 91 octane, not lower. So, the Stage 1 ACN91 map is not necessary. I use only Chevron gasoline - loyalty + Techron believer.

I just wanted to say that APR cracked the Porsche ECU for OBD2 flashing. Cobb is about to release there OBD2 flashing soon too. It sure would be nice to have BM3 over in the Porsche world!

Doesn't APR only have the tune for the base 991.2? Not the S? Curious to see what a tuned 992 CS can do.

For those of us that are new to this - if I buy a BM3 license, and am reasonably tech savvy - can I simply take a map such as this one and upload it myself? Or are there other things involved? Thanks!

Do most people use the boost by gear reduction?

If so what is the recommended setting for Stage 2?
