I知 still having a bit of an issue telling the various Tractive systems apart. I am getting my F80 ZCP with EDC soon and was thinking of installing the Ohlins RT coilovers for better track performance. My car will see 5-6 track weekends per year, driven hard on those weekends.

Would this be a good alternative? Or would I need to go to a more track oriented version of Tractive, if such a thing exists?

Any feedback is welcome!

I chose the tractive shocks for their improved dampening and thus comfort over stock, so keeping the oe top mounts was a must

Adding solid top mounts would introduce even more nvh to a car that already has quite a lot to begin with from its stiffened front end, solid mount rear subframe and zcp's on 30 series tyres, and imo defeats the purpose of choosing tractive as a 'comfortable alternative' to oe

I see this more as a track setup than road setup, and probably a good point of difference to tractive's own version for customers who want that

Re the controller, is this pnp with oe edc or do we need to run new cables to all 4 corners

I'm only speculating here for the sake of dialogue.

It's true that our platform exhibits a great deal of NVH. While it's good to take a holistic view in reducing NVH it's best tackled at its source which begins at ground contact.

Performance tires are the worst offenders due to contact patch, wide tread pattern and profile.
I need all the traction I can get so no compromising in this area.

Next major component in line to deal with NVH are the dampers and springs. Traditional dampers perform according to their valving system. Some are fix while other allow for adjustments. I feel this is where there is room for improvement on our platform. If the dampers do a poor job absorbing uneven pavement then the results will be transfer to the rest of the car.

Solid top mount will certainly do a poorer job against NVH however if they are essential to extracting the best performance from TracTive dampers then that's a compromise I'm willing to accept. If the TracTive/ DSC combo performs accordingly then NVH will be checked ( greatly reduced) at this point.

Any harshness would then be further filtered out with rubber mounts and other body damping materials. However if the rubber mounts distract from the TracTive abilities to realize its full potential then its up to the user to determine which point of filtering is most critical.

I would wait on this controller before you get rid of the OEM EDC dampers for a Ohlins R/T kit.

Once you try the controller out you can choose to just go with springs such as BMW Has Kit or even eibachs if you want.

But if you want to go with complete coils you can upgrade to a tractive coilovers that works with the controller. Also KW offers similar EDC compatible coilovers and in theory you should be able to set it up with this controller though I believe you might want to play with the software.

Regardless the quality of the Tractive dampers seems a step above both the R/T kit and the KW DDC coils when you read the Porsche threads on this suspension.

Has the software development been done already or does that come after the physical box is ready?

Can not wait for the control box to be released. Would like to try it out with stock edc suspension paired to eibach springs before I decide to install my ohlins

This is exactly what I'm waiting for as well. But if I go with coils I'll try the KW DDC or Tractive to be used with the controller.

After 3 months I finally got my car back from the engine build. Had a week to break in the motor and run through DCT adaptation.

I can't speak highly enough about the crew at Turbo Performance Center / DSC Sport. They got me in and out and the work was top notch.

Phase 1 of suspension build complete.
Phase 2 will consist of CAN integration and dialing in the controller and ride height once I get back from engine tuning.

Hello I love the idea of this kit. I知 still trying to decide the direction I want to go with my suspension for my track days. I知 a little concerned. The rear coils are mounted on the shock body. In the factory layout the coils are supported by separate buckets which help distribute the load in the chassis. Now the weight is being supported solely where the shocks mount. The long term effect of this configuration is what I知 concerned with.

E92 guys get the top mounts reinforced when running a true rear coilovers, not sure about the f80's

I spoke with ninekrpm regarding his passive MCS setup. He felt reinforcements was not necessary on F8x platform. Currently has +25k (street and light track) mile w/o issues.

Also DSCsportJeremy explain that the active dampening of the TracTive would lessen the stress on the car. I'll try to get a better explanation of this and report back.
