Sold my E90 M3 six months ago and have been regretting it pretty much every day since!

Picked up a 2014 M4 to park alongside our family 2020 X3. Loving it!

You have orange spray paint on the floor to know where your garage door is coming down?

It’s tape, but yes. They line up perfectly with the 360 camera in the X3, as soon as I see it I know the nose is clear. Leaves as much room as possible behind to access the boot.

The door has a beam running across it that is 3 inches further in than the door too, so keeps it clear of that!

I do the same sort of thing, but just line the front camera up with the lip where the garage meets the driveway

Excuse the mess and junk in the garage, my workshop was still under construction when i took the pick and i had to store stuff in there temporarily.

Thank you, its a good temporary solution. At first, I was going to leave it in the open. Then, I realised a cat or two started circling around the car the first hour I parked it. Not too long ago, I had a stage 2 paint correction and ceramic coat done to it. I wont let those cats ruin it so I went with this idea, haha. Plus is saves the car from tree leaves and bird poop.

We have vaulted ceiling in our ADU and though we would never add garage doors that is pretty slick how it goes up at an angle! Just as the other guy mentioned make sure there is a lock when it's in the up position. Some garage doors have a deadbolt that engages automatically when in the closed position for security but I don't think it engages in the open position.....

Forgot to post, but I did ask about a lock when in the UP position. As you stated there is a deadbolt when its closed. And when the door is open there is a tensioner that will prevent the door from slamming shut.
