Been running the ones I got from AliExpress since January. I put them on new heat sinks that I obtained at the same time. To date - no issues.

I have an extra set of yellow boards for one side if you're interested.

I'll sell for 60 shipped.

Thanks.

Just installed mines last night, I’m still not sure if I like them : I’ll give them a couples of days to accumulate.

Purchased mine on e-bay with the modules, I didn’t want the hassle of the DIY just in case I want to revert mine back to OEM just plug and play.

Appreciate you. I just found a brand selling them for 3x that price : https://bimmers.parts/products/bmw-m...boards-f80-f82

I’m convinced companies get everything from AliBaba/Express cheap and mark up the price crazy after adding their stickers/logo to it 😂

No problem, that’s exactly what these companies are doing unfortunately. Thank God for these cheaper alternatives.

The install is basically the same for the boards, you just have extra wires. Then you have to connect the harness and bluetooth module to switched power. There is a switched power source in the engine bay fuse box on the passenger side, the problem is with a add a fuse, you can't put the fusebox cover back on. The only real option is to cut it or leave it off, which I wasn't going to do. So I ended up running a positive wire to the trunk and using a switched power source back there. Then you just run the wiring harness from the boards to the RGB controller which has a QR code on the back of it for you to download an app to control the RGB. The RGB version does not get controlled by the switch in the car at all, its by the app and when the car is on or off. you won't have it turn on with your welcome lights either.

You also have the issue of when you disconnect the OEM boards, you dont use that stock wiring for the RGB. You use a small heat sink and put it on the factory boards, then reconnect them and tuck them back into the headlight, leaving them loose, which is another thing i didnt like. Then you turn off the DRL function in iDrive and it will prevent a dash error. Or you just leave them disconnected and you have a dash error.

The wire from the RGB boards gets pinched between the headlight housing and the foam gasket of the heat sink. It doesnt put a ton of pressure on it, and the foam gasket seals around the wiring to prevent water to get in. You can kind of see it in my pictures below.

I bought them from your eBay link. I like them so far because my car’s black and they really pop 😄

I’m looking at getting a set of red drl boards and yellow but I’m no sure which website to buy off of as there are so many and some as cheep as $80 but the more reputable sights like bay optics is $300. I have no issue spending the 300 but my only fear is the brightness of these boards. Does anyone know where I can get the best quality/brightnest boards from ?

Greetings to all from a newcomer to the forum! I bought yellow DRL modules for my F36 on Aliexpress. It's ok and looks exactly the same. But help me find such yellow DRL modules for my F34 LCI with dynamic LED headlights. I have looked everywhere and there is none.
