Battery Replacement

OK solved my problem, had to code from backup, where I put the value back to "Unassigned Value" which is the default, and the value is back at 69AH in BimmerLink.

New site launched this week, so some of the links have changed: https://europeanautosource.com/collections/antigravity. Link in OP fixed.

Any questions about the different batteries, let me know.

Thanks! Do you recommend the 60 or 80 aH for freezing climates (northern midwest)? Won't be driven much below freezing as I have a winter daily

Should go with the 80Ah for freezing temps. Peace of mind is worth it.

On a strict diet plan for my fully prepared track car, what would be the best battery option? I am in CA, so no cold weather and car is gutted (no accessories, no AC, etc)

The weight difference is only ~3lb from the H6 40A and H6 60A, I would still run the 60A minimum for peace of mind.

Quick question: I'm about to swap out my OEM battery for the recommended AntiGravity battery in my 2015 F80 M3. Is it necessary to provide power through a power plug/socket or OBDII to keep from losing any custom codings and other settings while the battery is disconnected?

Not necessary, coding/settings isn't wiped out with a battery change.

Just finished the installation and registration - a bit of a struggle with one step, though. The "cleat" would not go back on - I tried repositioning the battery and a host of other things, and finally gave up after 2 hours. Just not enough room for my big hands, and even my wife's smaller hands still couldn't get the cleat bolt to thread in. I ended up just installing the bolt, and then when I reinstalled the battery hold-down, I put the cleat between the hold-down and the top of the battery before tightening the bolts. Worked perfectly - no battery movement possible.

No issues changing battery type in FEM and registering it with bimmercode/bimmerlink. Now all I have to do is figure out what to do with the old battery!

PS - took the old battery to O'Reilly's Auto Parts and got a $10 reward for recycling!

I'm having an issue on my install. Everything went fine except mine needed a 13mm socket for the Ground and hold down plate.

The problem I'm having is the battery doesn't appear to be charging. I used BimmerCode/Link but made an initial mistake. I coded for 80AH not 80 AH AGM (I got the 80AH version) then I registered the battery. I noticed the problem and then changed to 80 AH AGM . Voltage on the IBS is steady at 14V and the battery is putting out ~13.75-14V but Bimmerlink shows the percentage decreasing...currently at 1% Car starts fine, everything seems ok, no errors, misfires, etc. The only thing I can think if is to go try registering it again after switching to 80AH AGM. Any ideas?

And for those wondering why you have to get the cable with IBS....the IBS module is built into the old battery and can't be removed. The EAS one has it attached.

Odd. Go through the coding and registering steps again and see if the voltage changes.
