Also interested in hearing Dan's advice here. I'll be in the same boat when my lease is up in April.

As for the M340s, I do see a good number of 2022 build slots available which is a promising sign given the chip shortage out there. 4-6% is a good target for the rest of 2021 on any BMW with an "M" in it |

My 2018 M3 zcp, DCT, Grigio Telésto, sold for $69941 at my local dealership on a consignment bases. They certified the car.
How much of that money should I get. They are trying to only give me 61500 for the car. I think I should receive about $64000. |

They should have given you the breakdown of certification cost, reconditioning and prep cost, dealer profit, etc. |

The car was in pristine condition with only 15k miles on it. All they said was they would take a small percentage and get back to me to figure out the numbers. They were supposed to help me get the most amount of money for the car to put towards the G80.
The car was in need of nothing. They said it cost $2200 for the warranty and that the sales guy needed a commission. He was supposed to get back to me on an agreement of how much I would get but it seems like they avoided that and make quick sale. It’s the third time I have done a commission sale with them and they only take about $3000. This time they are being really greedy and are trying to take a whole lot more. |

I was at my dealer today for an oil change on my 340 and they started talking about what I wanted to do at the end of my lease next April. Told them I'm currently planning on buying the car out and then trading it in on something because of the current state of the market. They started pushing to take the car now and give me a "credit" on whatever I wanted to get into next. They said that they expect the market to "normalize" by next April. If true, that's good in the sense that F80 M3s will come down to less ridiculous prices, but my 340i would obviously be worth less as well. What do you think? Wait it out until April or try to work something out now? Want to find an F80 M3 through them as they've been good to me thus far and they've got a number of dealerships to pull from as they're owned by Sonic Automotive. Thanks in advance. Great to get your perspective on this stuff.

If you don't need a car now, I would definitely wait it out
We've seen some terrible inventory and allocation numbers over the past 3 months But it's slowly getting better...fingers crossed it gets better by January 2022 Of all the luxury brands I do, BMW is better prepared to deal with the shortages IMO |

(I know not an M3) Any discount's for current 22 X3's, specifically say a loaded M Sport X3 30i around $54k MSRP? I called around and the discounts I'm seeing aren't very promising dealing direct.

Currently leasing an M3CS which is over in January 2022. If i want to trade the car in which to get the equity, can the sales tax be bypassed by the dealer buying the car? Vs me buying from BMW and pay sales tax then trading it in.

You don't own the M3 but if the dealer buys out the lease, then you do not have to pay sales tax, and the dealer will give you the equity in the car (I hope) |

Used car pricing is nuts nowadays… even more so than usual for the M’s.
Any recommendations / suggestions for buying an M4 with a manual transmission? I’m considering a new one as my thought is the car / engine won’t be beat up from the high mileage. And the hope is a manual transmission might be easier to negotiate on. Edit: I should mention this would be in Canada…but I’m open to importing it from the US too. Even used M4 prices are quite high I would put in an order for a 2023MY at close to MSRP and wait it out

Thank you for your insight.
The used pricing being high is what pushed me to the new side (as a dollars/cost benefit analysis) I'll expand my outlook to look for the auto transmissions as well |
