I'm happy with my Maximum PSI intake, but honestly, the sound of the MSR intake is just intoxicating. I'm a huge stickler for noises on our cars, so I'm actually thinking about this intake.

I could never justify spending $2.5k on a brand new CAI, but maybe if the price of a used one is good enough - I'd bite the bullet.

I'd definitely want to hear more clips though, if you get a chance Justin

Reviving this thread as I was also contemplating which intake to buy. I installed the MSR after reading this and other posts. However, I find that the sounds from the intake are more audible from outside than within the cabin.

Would eventuri (which has filters inside the engine bay) sound louder than MSR from the driver's seat with windows closed?

I am not trying to impress others with the loud sounds. Would like to channel more sound to my own ears.

I drive a DCT, which may be a reason why I hear less whoosh from the MSR.

I have Eventuri and with the windows closed it's barely audible. I mean you can hear it but it's pretty quiet. With the windows open you can hear the whoosh sound a lot louder.

Are you driving manual or DCT.

With the MSR, it's really hard to hear anything at all from inside the car.

Msr sounds amazing. Have experienced both. Also those filters behind the grills are menacing

You can def hear them inside the cabin if the music isn't too loud and you go WOT and let off lol

I've had my Eventuri installed for about a month now and am very happy with it. I had one on my previous S54 car too. The induction and spooling note is night and day compared to stock. I can hear it clearly from inside even with windows up. That said, I've heard the MSR in person and I think it is a little bit louder from the outside. I suspect the Eventuri is a little louder from inside the cabin given the filter placement.

The performance gains on these intakes are all just about the same. What I like most about Eventuri is the design and build quality. The yellow-black CF weave is immaculate. I had the red-black CF weave on my last one and it was just as beautiful. The matching CF air scoops are a nice touch. The attention to detail is obvious--everything fits perfectly with clear instructions and extra fasteners.

My eventuri was subpar fitment for the price. Looked great though.

Won't make the same mistake on this car though.

I have had both. First eventuri then MSR. Only reason I switched is that I needed a front mount intake in order to fit the JRZ external reservoirs. IMO I haven't noticed much of a difference. With windows down MSR is a bit louder and at least you can see them from the front. With hood open eventuri probably looks better as it matches the carbon strut brace.

the MSR needs an adaptation process in order for the MAF and ECU to adapt to the air flow. Supposed to pull through the gears to high boost and high RPM for a couple of runes a day for a few weeks. Then the throttle opens more and the sound becomes louder over time. This is due to the position of the filter element.

What about the Eventuri? Does it need to go through the adaptation process?

It was probably a one off manufacture mistake or something. My eventuri intakes was perfect fitment. I wouldn't let that scare me

Eventuri on New F82

I've had my F82 for a few months now, looking to upgrade the intake. Are there any warranty concerns with putting an aftermarket intake on the car? Would taking it to the dealership and having them put it on help? Thanks.

There are potential warranty issues but the car is unlikely to malfunction because of it.

Having a dealer install implies they are mod friendly and unlikely to flag it as a mod should something unrelated go wrong with the car.

I never understood why itís generally considered ok on this forum to have dirty water getting sucked into your intake system with those msr style kits. There is no way water doesnít get in there during car washes, rain on the highway etc.... all that shit goes through your maf sensor then through the rest of your intake.

Iíve had my eventuri intake since I picked up the car and zero issues with it. No CEL no cold weather stumbles and no water getting into it either. If i want to hear it, it is WAY louder in Sport+ mode. Sounds like a blow off valve.

I just went from a set of MSR to Eventuri.

I have to say. The build quality and fitting with all the brackets and screws to make sure nothing shakes about, is impressive.

Imran, I found out that there is a new version 3 out now? The intakes are fully closed (like the M2) instead of semi open scoop?

Yes its being officially released this month.

Owners of original kits will be able to purchase the new ducts as an upgrade.

In one of your videos you said that the reason you didnít close it up was due to the air turbulence. Does the new tubing fix that? Also is the sound output decreased due to it being closed?

Sounds reduced per my early discussion with Imran. He also stated there would be no change in power. I'll let him vouch though.
