$603/6 months with $250/$250 collision/comprehensive, and car rental with State Farm. For reference, my 10+ year old Subaru WRX STi that's worth at most $12K costs $475/6 months for same coverage.

This can jack up your rates a ridiculous amount. I moved 12 miles away and my insurance went up 40% solely due to a zip code change where they had a high rate of those claims...

It's hard to compare rates because of this. I'm dealing with the same thing due to home insurance claims in my area due to tornadoes in the past few years. My home insurance has virtually doubled in 24 months without ever having had a claim myself.

Needless to say I'm about to swap carriers to save a few bucks.

I know exactly what you mean, I moved here from Memphis. It's bad there in areas too.

State farm since new insured my E90 M3 for $515, $250 comp deduct and rental and roadside.

I wouldn't go with lesser insurance companies. I haven't priced the F8X but I can't imagine it being any different.

So State Farm is the creme de la creme of insurance companies?

I'll check this tomorrow, you boys want to guess if it's more or less for a female? I'm guessing it will start with 1 and end in tears ahahaa

All things being equal (except for the penis thing), it is less for women... but I would imagine it depends more on your driving record than anything else.

No accidents in this country! A few back home, and an accident is a bit of a stretch in those. What can I say, islands do bite back at some point!

I bet that These are all cheaper than our friends in Europe, specially the UK.
I could be wrong, but when I would tell my buddies from the UK, and other parts of Europe my rates (sub $600 for 6 months for $500k per vehicle and full coverage) they were flabbergasted at how cheap we have it in the states.
Please correct me if I'm wrong......

Your rates are astronomical. $1200 pa would cover a $200,000 car for me. But of course you all sue each other all the time

Indeed, where is the Obamacare mandate against charging one gender more than the other for auto insurance, regardless of projected utilization!! In all seriousness, I reckon I'm as safe or safer than the actuaries assume and they build in a profit margin, so I only buy the legally required liability coverage. Even if you have a loan or lease, not clear to me why people buy more coverage than the minimum title holder requires. Maybe my math is off?

I tried adding my car to my USAA profile and it wasn't able to validate my VIN and the drop down list for BMWs didn't even show an M4!! I have to call 1-800 to add the car!! Nuts!

I was quoted about $395/6mo to add my M3 to a multi-car policy I already have at USAA without removing any vehicles. I'm 39. Been a member for 16 years. Never made an auto claim. I don't remember the coverages/deductibles but they're for California.
