Never had an accident claim in about 18 years of driving, my rate on my 335i just jumped to $1700 a year. Figure that one out. Oh yea, single, male, living in a zip known for higher than normal claims rate for uninsured motorists.

I think the area you live in is as big as a factor as your driving record (I last got a ticket 7.5 years ago).

Yes, if I moved to the suburbs my rates would plummet.

My 335is rate with Wawanesa is $904 per year.
They gave me quote for new 2015 M3 for $1080 per year.
This is quote for one car only (full standard coverage) with no other car/house insurance included.
Not too bad.

how did you get the quote? when I try online there is no option for 2015 bmw models

How long have you had wawanesa and what is your experience like with them? I like the quote I got for a v8 m3 hope it will be close to what I would get for my f82

My quote with Geico came out to about 270$/month I'm 23 no accidents but live in Oakland

I got $1150 a year as a Married 43YO male from Erie Insurance in PA with 300/300 limits, accident forgiveness, work loss, life insurance, medical, and a number of other nice perks. I have been with them for 8 years and a outstanding company! I do have multiple policy discount as well but would only raise that price another $100. Lower than most prices I have seen and did shop around several companies before staying with them when I signed for the F80

I ran into the same thing. So, called them and got a quote. My insurance will go up $191 for six months when I replace the 2006 M3 with the 2015 M4. That's really not too bad.

Also, my insurance rep asked about LoJack or OnStar for a discount. Shouldn't BMW Assist qualify?

Because some people are frauds and will cause an accident intentionally, and make it seem like you did it, (sometimes with groups of cars), and then fake injuries. Or you could just have really bad luck and kill someone.
You can find video examples all over the internet. IMO, you can never have too much insurance. But you could always be under insured. A court could go after your earnings and assets in the worst scenario.

I keep $1,000,000 of liability coverage through an umbrella policy and it's dirt cheap.

Wow, most rates here are low. I'm getting quoted almost $2000 per year in Michigan from Citizens. Anyone else from Michigan have other carrier advice with more reasonable rate?

I have had wawanesa for 10 years. I just called and they gave me a quote. This also includes insurance for my clear bra and wheels and exhaust. I send them the invoice and they will take pics when it arrives. I have no issues with them. Quick response and good customer service.

I just want to say beware of certain insurance companies. I recall having progressive and they only cover used parts since it's cheaper to paint over a part from the junk yard rather replacing a new part for a new car. So buyers beware of what you are getting and ask. I also had to explain the accident so they can try to deny coverage on a no fault state

I want reasonalbe rates and just want people to ask what you are getting before agreeing to a great rate. But i'm still curous what are the michigan people getting. We are #1 in having the highest rates and my M3 will be here soon hopefully.

I've filed a few claims through Progressive from uninsured motorists hitting me, and as long as you take it to a good shop that only uses OEM parts (ie. Haury's here in Seattle), Progressive will pay, but I did have to push them a bit. I will definitely be shopping around when my f80 arrives tho. Some of you guys have great rates!

I pay $700/6mo on my 335 now, but I have a few speeding tickets in there...

I'm currently insuring three cars(g35,335,and JX)....and my premium is ~1550/6 months. I can't imagine my premium for a m3 to be 1200-1300 like some have been quoted.
