pre-LCI taillights go better with the F80's design IMO. but they're cool, a pretty minor change. and less chrome inside please bmw.

I'm so glad they put the LED array behind a diffuser lens. I've always hated the wasp hive look. The turn signal is such an elegant solution. Will probably be red in the US.

In the event that you haven't read the press release yet, they added chrome. Most visibly around the HVAC vents.

I'm with you. The 2015 lights look better IMO. The angular L shape just played better with the styling of the car. Call me disappointed. Good thing my ED timing was the reason behind the 2016 purchase or otherwise I'd be kicking myself for waiting.

Any changes to the headlights for the xenons? Do they get the light bar next to the grill too?

I doubt it.. the M3's headlights are based on the 4 series and that isn't getting LCI. The xenons will probably remain untouched.

Yes! I win. Prefer my old 2015 lights, and they added chrome accents....no bueno. My car is all black and CF inside, with these new "improved" chrome bits it would be a pita to darken the interior. Probably another way to get people to spend money on black bits, just like the exterior...99 out of 100 would prefer all the chrome crap outside black, so everyone goes out and buys aftermarket M Perf parts(or whatever).

I'm so happy these changes were minimal, my gamble payed off for once. The only real immediate change is the white back up lights which moved from the top to the bottom....oohhhh aaahhhhh.......the change in the pattern and the LEDs plus the secret yellow blinker is not a drastic change, not enough to warrant the 2016's costing more or to effect resale values specifically due to LCI lights.

So now all you waiting for 2016 laser darth maul lights....are gonna go mope on over to the new C63s and look for adventure there.
My advice, buy the car you like, get in, mash skinny pedal and
Life's too short to nickel and dime details like lights.

That is, provided that LED's aren't standard and they do away with the xenon's entirely. The 340i has LED's standard now.

True, but I doubt they'll get rid of the xenons on the 4 series before it's official LCI in a year or two. I'm guessing if anything the xenons would disappear once the m4 gets it's LCI.. 2017 maybe?

I never understood why the US blinkers are red? I think they look better yellow like the EU spec.

The only unhappy people right now, should be the ones who held out thinking the LCI was going to be a significant change or wanted a competition package.

If you bought a 2015, then you're happy.
If you were always getting a 2016, then you get a few updates and should be happy.

If you were holding out for a ZCP or significant change, then this is a big let down.

For the 2015 guys: If you like the new LCI taillights, perhaps you can kill two birds with one stone and get the EU spec LCI taillights. Win/win.

For me, I'll pass. Also, keep chrome far away from me, lol.

Very true.....as the M3 and M4 share front ends no?. Just would be odd that a regular 3'er gets standard LED and F80 doesn't?

Yes it's odd but the same happened last generation. In fact even when the coupes got the LCI treatment, the M never got the new headlights, just tail lights

Correct, I'm still rocking my halogen angel eyes (well LUX now) while the e92 LCI was rocking the LED halos which were KILLER at the time haha

I love the yellow blinkers.

I had the blackline tails on my 335I and they had the yellow blinkers.
