Hi guys,

we are very sorry, our thread was not visible for a while now. We had a little mishap with our sponsor account, but fortunately everything is working again.

Should you have sent us messages, we have unfortunately not received them in the meantime.

What happened in the meantime.

- EDC coding has unfortunately not progressed as much as hoped. Here we have to add some additional functions to our flasher. This will happen with the next update in the next 2 weeks.
- March2019 update vehicles; DCT GTS and CS version will be released this quarter.
- BMW M2 (N55) GTS and CS Gearboxflash incl. adjustment of the Drivelogic level via the Driving Experience Switch will be released this quarter.

Last but not least. Kies Motorsports posted a really cool review the last weeks about THOR at his youtube channel.

Can you guys share the difference in clutch pressures and difference in shifting times?

Either values or actual % increases between the different modes please...

Also what is the current status for the M2C and GTS software which is not compatible. Regardless interested in the difference between CS/GTS modes for shifting.

are these THOR maps or are these actually the genuine CS and GTS bmw maps?

e.g bm3 give you the DCT GTS map (be it the old one) but its actually the genuine BMW map.

e.g Zed coding is doing full GTS coding again genuine BMW map (latest version)

i cant work out if these are the genuine CS and GTS maps or home made in house map that are trying to replicate those tunes?##hopefully that makes sense

I watched Blakes's video and I surprised at the difference in steering comfort after he did the GTS coding. He was able to steer with one finger.

I had my steering coded to GTS spec as well by a very reputable vendor and my steering still feels heavy in comfort, I can't steer it with 1 finger that's for damn sure.

Do you think the difference is Blake is running the base 18" 513M wheels and I'm running heavier 20" 666M wheels, would that explain why my steering is so heavy? Or possibly the coding wasn't done correctly in my car? Honestly, I didn't feel much of a difference at all afterward...

At first we have to implement it. But here we will certainly find a solution.

I'm afraid I can't give you those figures. I can't give you percentages or absolutes.

The difference between GTS and CS are rather small things, than other shifting times, clutch pressures or similar. Here I will say once again, if I can post more details.

Yes, M2C is currently not working. With the M2 we have currently solved the problem with the gear steps. Now the whole thing is programmed for the app. Afterwards, it's time for M2C. But before that, I have to fulfill my promise with EDC-coding.

Yes, these are the OEM Maps.

This may be a bit confusing, because of various reasons in europe our maps were not always called GTS or CS at the beginning. They were called Clubsport and Road&Track - but they are the genuine maps.

Yes, that is quite possible. Now, if I were to bet on that, rather than on an incorrect coding

do the version change to the latest versions as and when they are released.

again bmw released a new DCT GTS map think it was november 2019. is yours the latest versions?

reason i ask is i have BM3 and they wont be updating to the latest versions so i am tempted to swap to something that can give me the latest and greatest versions

Smee, hit up Alex @ Alpine, he can do the DCT flash and I think he always uses the latest versions... I have BM3 as my motor tune and Alpine for my DCT tune for that exact reason.

yes, we also use the latest versions. When you start the app, there are always loading processes at first, here THOR checks if new versions are available and downloads them if necessary.

Is it possible to use this with an enet cable and a laptop? Don't feel like investing in a wireless OBD or a lightning adapter for one flash.

You can use the ENET cable and your phone to flash. Just get a Ethernet to lightning adapter (for iPhone) or comparable for android.

Setup your Apple Device for THOR with ENET-Cable
First, enable “Flight Mode” in the iOS Settings. When connecting your Lightning-to-Ethernet Adapter to your Apple device, a new option “Ethernet” will appear in your “Settings” panel.

Just make sure your settings are all on “Automatic”. Once you plugged the ENET cable to your BMW and your ignition is turned ON your Apple device will show an IP Address (for instance
169.254.xxx.xxx) and Subnet Mask (255.255.0.0). This might take 30 seconds. As soon as the IP is showing, wait another 10 -15 seconds, before trying to connect.

Setup your Android Device for THOR with ENET-Cable

Android users need to configure the Ethernet port, after connecting the Adapter to their devices. Please open the settings panel on your device. Depending on your Android version, the procedure may be a bit different. This procedure is only necessary on first connect and for wired connections. Your
phone will store those settings for subsequent connects. Eventually you need to re-plug the adapter, after saving the settings to take effect.

1. After connecting cable, press OK
2. Open „Connections“
3. Open „More Conn. Settings“
4. Open „Ethernet“
5. Open „Configure“
6. Ethernet settings

Necessary Ethernet settings (Topic 6) are:
Static IP: 169.254.250.250
Subnet: 255.255.0.0
DNS: 0.0.0.0
Default Gateway: 0.0.0.0
Please enter and save them!

Now you are ready to flash your vehicle with an ENET-Cable and iOS or Android Smartphone/Tablet.

Hi Guys,

we would need some log files for our EDC coding project.

What would you have to do?
Write us an eMail with your VIN and description of your vehicle.
M4 Competition, M3,... Send us a log about the THOR App.

Menu -> About THOR -> scroll down -> Send logs to THOR Support
IMPORTANT - it works only with the newest THOR version.

Thanks a lot

THOR_Flasher, any input on this? Is there a minimum istep version you need for all of the CS goodness, or does THOR update the software in addition to the coding as needed?
