Tidal...

Any success getting this to work with the current idrive updates? I see Spotify populated over and YouTube but the Tidal app has not. Can this be somehow done through the idrive and car speakers? Or is not so great Spotify my only other real Hi Rez option? Apologies if this has been covered.

Im using Bluetooth. I can use the lighting cable if it will allow me to get Tidal though the car speakers. I’m beginning to think Tidal has not ponied up enough cash to BMW to get access through the idrive yet?

You lost any benefits of using a Tidal by using BlueTooth and it's limited bandwidth.

And Tidal is too minor a player to deal with in a mass appeal world.

If people will listen through computer speakers, air pods and over Bluetooth, there is no need to worry about a HiRes Audio Source (especially with BMW OEM Sound Systems).

I listen to Tidal on my Stax/Chord Hugo2 Electrostatic system at home. Since I’m paying $20 a month for the Masters edition, I’d like to see if I can use it in my car as well, knowing far to well it won’t be anything as glorious as my electrostatics.

Can you explain how I can do this? I’ve got it downloaded on my iPhone and Apple CarPlay in the car but it doesn’t show up on my idrive screen.

Check on the iphone carplay settings, there must tidal be available.

Thanks for responding, when no one else seemed to have this simple answer.

Perfect, never thought to recheck my Apple Car app list in iPhone settings, I mistakingly disabled it to the cloud, and it was preventing it from appearing on the idrive screen. How silly of me! Too many software updates and setting adjustments and I go ahead and disable Tidal.

All good now, thank you!
