M4cs here. Lack of comfort access and brake squeel of ccb suck for daily use.

Otherwise pretty happy.

Wait... what? Right at 3.5 years of original ownership, 70k miles driven and I've never had the DCT put itself into neutral except when opening the doors while the motor is still running.

To the OP's point of question - similar to others, my only complaint is the lack of altering the default drive settings at start up.

You might be alone in that problem. Sounds like you're stating it wrong, or you need to get your car checked. The only thing the DCT should be doing is engaging the clutch, just like you would be when driving a manual transmission when the revs fall low enough. It shouldn't be going into neutral.

Biggest aesthetic irritant is the front fender gap that requires the car to become very low to completely rectify, however changing the suspension did allow a bit of bonding with the car, and I find the ride has been improved over stock. Functional irritants? Not being able to turn rev matching off separately, and I find the armrest is positioned to make certain shifts a bit awkward. Not much else is springing to mind.

Edit: Dynamic sound. Forgot about it since I unplugged it so long ago.

Sorry, my bad, yeah it is not going to "N", but releases the clutch (DCT is at "1"). So that when the car stops completely, it would not move forward when release the brake pedal. That exact moment, when the clutch get released, that would be the time when I hit the gas pedal and it re-engaged.

My only "complaint" would be that there is no true front camera! Just think of how many innocent front lips we would still have in our community if our cars had them!

DCT does not go in Neutral at very low speed, it just opens both clutches to avoid stalling the engine, but the gear remains engaged.

#1 is Active sound , then a few cabin rattles , and the lower front grill collects leaves and road debris and can not be accessed to clean. Comp seats look great but not that comfortable. All minor nit picks on one of my otherwise favorite cars.

1. Color, I fel that mineral white looks greyish and dirty...
2. Won't remember last M setting (double push every frickin' day)
3. Not sure if this is car, but podcast require super high volume, then blasts radio or media when switching
4. Seat bottom is a little too flat so I have to put a thin cushion in
5. lack of plugs when rear head rests are removed

I’ve driven other high-powered cars, and this is the first one that seems to be fighting me on full-throttle up shifts. I’m still experimenting with various settings and techniques (6MT) but out of the box it should be more cooperative. Just let me spin the tires, OK? I can’t help thinking a good old Torsen diff would be better than the electronic trickery back there. Oh, and my daughter is quite bummed by the lack of rear armrest or cup holders.

My bad in wording. Please see post 27th. I have to time the speed/distance when going in stop/go traffic to avoid that exact moment. That took the joy away from driving the car, in busy traffic.

To OP, another thing I dont like about the car is how the brake pads and the brake rotors are bond together after a car wash. I think it is materials of the rotors and the pads (this same thing doesn't happen with my other cars). I always have to drive the car couple blocks around to dry them up before park after a car wash. If I dont, the next time I drive the car out the garage, there would be a loud break away noise between the pads and the rotors. It sounds like I snap the calipers.
Talk about driving it couple block around to dry them up, the dust gets back on those wheels. It is kind of ironic.

The only complaint would be the overly loud morning start ups...for my neighbours anyway hahaha...everything else is great, wonderful and practical package compared to my E92

I coded out active sound in my car. The sound didn’t change, it just got more muted when inside and lost some low rpm downshift aural drama.

Hindsight 20/20, I should have left it alone but was too proud/purist to admit at the time I liked the fake sounds.

F80 is great, my only beefs with it came about when I expected something that was not realistic given it’s “daily driver but trackable sedan” mandate

Forgot about this one. Pain in the ass with kids in the back. Also the lack of a sync option for driver and passenger climate control. Newer models finally have it.
