Gotcha. That makes sense. I really appreciate it guys! Time for some aftermarket parts now, lol.

Agreed with his opinion.

I think they improved it vastly via software updates (M4 base). I have canflap valve controller that can also control ASD. I leave it on for sport+ mode and off for efficient to compare it easily. The difference is not much, just slight amplification. I actually like it on now. People wouldn't know it has ASD through speakers unless they are told so. Removing charcoal filters might have increased natural volume as well.

Love that spec OP

If you still want a little more "whoosh" with the stock intake set up, have the charcoal filters removed from each intake box. This was one of the first mods I did and it was certainly a noticeable difference

Do you need to remove the brace to gain access or can you just take the filters out directly?

You have to remove the brace. It takes about 15 min start to finish. Search YouTube, there are several videos that explain how to do it.

Got it, thanks. I'll have to try it and see if it makes a considerable difference. Would love to be able to hear the turbos a bit more!

What do the charcoal filters do? Does removing them bring attention by dealer in terms of warranty issues? I've always dived right in on modding cars but I'm paranoid about warranty issues on this car. Plus the CS is such a great car off the floor.

They somehow are supposed to help with emissions. Only the US has them, and as far as I understand it's due to compliance with CA law. Removing them will not cause issues with warranty.

Thanks. Good old California CARB. I loved it when Trump administration went after the state for being enabled to set CARB standards that the entire country had to follow.

I would just do intakes, removing the charcoal filters is really not that great sounding and AFAIK intakes don't void warranty. Intakes look and sound great, but that's all youre gonna get- for me it's enough.
