How do remove ebrake handle cover?

I've been pulling like mad but I can't get the ebrake cover off. Is there a trick to this? I feel like i'm going to break it. I tried with the button pushed and without, and still have no luck.

Thanks!

Wiggle and pull. Mine took all of 30 seconds to install with no tools.

The top often has a cable/zip tie around it.

Remove it from bottom and pull upwards to see if there is a cable tie.

Pop up cover, cut zip tie holding on boot, pull off, repeat to install. Super easy.

I'm guessing you're talking about the handle itself. take off the leather boot first (many videos), and then the handle itself requires some strong persuasion. videos make it look like it slips out, but honestly took me a good ten minutes of yanking. no tricks. just held on with pressure.

I did both mine and my wife's car. Unclip the boot at the base and peel back (forward). I don't think that I removed the zip tie. Grab the handle with both hands and push forward while twisting back and forth. It's a friction fit and it's really tight. Make sure that you don't hit the dash.

Thanks guys. I will try again next weekend. The videos I saw didn't involve cutting the zip tie unless just the handle was going to be replaced. I will try that if all else fails.

I once had a stubborn handle that just would not budge, so I grabbed a rubber mallet and tapped on the back portion of the handle to slide it off. The problem can be the handle getting hung up on the two little barbs on the actual e brake assembly that obviously ensure the handle does not come loose during normal operation.
