Dash Cam Wiring Help

I have an M4 with a Thinkware U1000 Dash Cam installed in it and was wondering if anyone knew if there's a way of wiring it to improve how the Parking Mode function works.

Currently, once you switch off the ignition, after 30 seconds the Dash Cam enters parking mode, but if for example I've got things to take out of the boot etc, you end up with clips being recorded that are irrelevant, of which it tells you there's been a parking incident when you next start up the car, which invariably there hasn't been as it's probably been caused by myself. In order for it to work perfectly, instead of the parking mode being triggered from the ignition, does anyone know if there's a supply which is switched off once the car is locked?? The best I've found so far is one which slowly drains away after about 5 minutes once you've locked the car, but this is quite a long time and I'd like it to enter parking mode shortly after you've locked the car.

If this isn't possible, can anyone think of a way I could achieve this??

Which fuses did you tap into?

I hardwired on my wife’s F25. For the switched I used the cigarette socket. It cuts out when the car goes to sleep after 20 mins then the Thinkware goes into parking mode.

On my F80 I spliced the parking mode around a battery pack plugged into the cigarette socket, it goes into parking mode around 8 mins.

I didn't fit the dash cam myself so I don't know which fuse was used. Either way, I need to tap in to a fuse which will cut out as soon as you lock the car, but he couldn't find one that did. It's currently wired to the fuse box that's in the boot, he thinks there's another fuse box under the bonnet but he didn't have time to look and check to see if there was a fuse in there that cut out once you lock the car

Is there no fuse in the trunk that shuts off after the car turns off?

Yes, but only after about 5 minutes after you've locked the car. Ideally I'd like the parking mode to be initiated as soon as I lock the car, but I don't think that's going to be possible sadly...

Recently posted this in another dashcam thread and sounds like it could be helpful here. You'll probably want to tap one of the fuses 143-148 or 154:

The following fuses are constant 12V: 100, 103, 104, 106-109, 112-114, 116, 117, 120, 123, 149, 150, 160, & 161

The following fuses are on AND off with ignition: 143-148, & 154

The remaining fuses are on with ignition and then remain on for ~10 min after the ignition is turned off, and then turn off.

Fuses 109, 112 & 125 are blank, meaning that there is no fuse installed in the spot

Fuses 112-117, and 136-142, do not have sockets installed-

Has anyone installed the thinkware battery? I'm thinking of getting one to avoid ruining the expensive lithium ion battery in the car.

Very Helpful thanks
