One reason not mentioned is if somebody willing to steal/break in to an F8x to get some upgrades happens to spot one in public it's just another F8x. But if somebody had posted pictures with their plate online they could potentially recognize it and know exactly what goodies the car's got which could make it a far more tempting target. When you might have thieves eyeing your car would you rather be a random unknown M car or that they know you've got upgraded turbos, an expensive suspension, every high-end bolt-on on the market, etc?
And a really important point that seems to be missed all the time when this question is asked: It literally takes longer to post in threads like this than it takes to blur out a plate in a pic. Nobody's spending a bunch of valuable time obscuring their plates; it takes about 10 seconds to have that tiny bit more security. |

Why be a target is one reason, so many jealous people out there and envious of your ride..last thing you need is vandalism or theft from your ride.
