Original Eibachs or Macht Schnell? For Conservatve drop.

Reason I ask is because like an idiot I bought both. The Eibachs when they were first released and then Mach Schnell because at first thought the Eibachs were too conservative, but looking at some Macht Schnell pics it looks like the rear is ever so slightly tucked and I do not want that at all.

So is it me or is the Macht Schnell a little too dropped in the rear?

I'm happy with my eibachs, its very conservative, seems like it drops the front only which is what I wanted. I think it depends on usage, I wanted daily drivabilty and want to avoid scratching my front lip. You've probably analyzed the pics between both springs but my opinion if you want lower than eibach then go with coilovers since they are better matched to the shocks. I've had aggressive lowering springs in the past and they just ride horrible.

Ok thanks. That's exactly what I needed to hear. I want it to look like a little lower in the front and don't mind the rear at all. I think with this car not being able to tell if it is lowered means it's perfect, lol. Thanks!

I bought three different sets of springs before finally installing one

Went with the Eibach's first but held off on installing them as I didn't know the spring rate of the comp pack yet and didn't want to potentially soften up the car. Once I found out that the Eibach spring rate was softer than the comp pack, I sent those back and ordered Emanuelle Design springs as the rate was almost identical to the comp pack. Ended up not installing those either because after giving it a lot of though, they would have dropped the car too much and I didn't want to worry about scrapping. So I was between Swifts and Macht Schnell Springs. Ended up ordering the Swifts because the drop was a little less than the Macht Schnells.

I installed them last weekend and I'm very happy with the choice. Drop is perfect, I don't scrape on anything and the ride is almost the same as stock (which is what I wanted).

Interesting. I dont track the car and never really push it so im not too concerned about Spring rates etc. mostly just want small drop to get rid of some of the wheel gap.

Yeah I just wanted the gap gone as well but didn't want it to feel different. The swifts did exactly that.

That looks perfect. On the M4 with 19" wheels the rear is a little too low for me in the Swifts

Macht Schnell for sure. We've rarely had anyone ask for Eibachs.

Since you have them all, give each set a try and follow up with your experience.

Yeah, I havent seen many with Eibachs but the drop in the rear is too much on the MS. At least looking at the pics. I dont want the rear to be "tucked".

I dont know why I missed it but wow. Im about to spend some time on your FLIKR. plenty of examples there!!!!!!!!!!! Awesome

Rear doesn't tuck with the Macht Schnell springs. There is a very small gap on all 4 wheels.

Here's a couple of examples on M4s:

Interested on what you decide, as I am in the same boat as you. I want more of the front gap gone and do not want the rears to be tucked at all.

I had the Swift springs on my RC F, but only installed the fronts. Loved the raked look and again, I didn't want to rear to be tucked.

Yeah, I'm still torn. I don't want the car to look like I lowered it but want some of the gap gone. I dunno, lol

Ordered a set of swift springs to go on 19s. I have 15/12 spacers on the car. Looking forward to the changes

Another question, can I just lower the front and keep the rear stock? Is that an issue ? I just want to lower for looks and rear looks perfect to me

You will likely not have properly balanced front-to-rear spring rates by doing so. I would not recommend it. The Eibach springs provide a more pronounced drop in the front with only a very moderate drop in the rear. They however increase the spring rates more in the rear, which is exactly what the F8X needs IMO.

That looks perfect to me as well, M.a.r.k.u.s! I've got the ZCP as well and just want that miserable front gap gone. So you just put the Swift springs in and that's the look? Are you running spacers too? Did you have to do a software update and/or alignment as well? Thanks much. Your ride is MONEY

Did you use Swift made Sport Springs Spec-R or Swift sports springs, are both the same?

Thanks!! I definitely love the look of it now! The car is already a zcp, so no software changes. I'm only running the swift springs and 10mm macht schnell spacers all the way around. I'm getting an alignment done next week. You want to drive about 200 miles after you put them on before getting it done.

These are the spec R's which I believe are the only swifts currently available for the f80.
