Sudden acceleration at stop light

Anyone getting this sudden acceleration issues while waiting at a stop light? The engines revs rpm's near 2k and you pushing the. I have t push the brake pedal hard to the floor so you don't ram the guy in the front of you. When the light turn green let go of the brake and the revs go back down. Is it me or the car? I'm booked a service call in for tomorrow morning and see what is going on in my 2018 F83. This has happens 3 times this week, I can't be gas, I only use premium fuel and these is not jerky or hesitation while driving. I've turned off the auto off feature in the car and this still keeps on happening, has anyone gone through these issues? Or it's a fluke?

The engine at a complete stop should not creep because there is no torque converter to push it. You have to lightly tap the gas pedal to initiate "slow motion crawl". If it is revving with the brake ON then there is something wrong with either the fly by wire pedal, or the engine itself.

This may sound dumb, but check your carpet on the floor, it could be pushing the pedal unknowingly.

I've checked and it's not the carpet, it randomly does this when your at the light with the foot on the brake. If I don't hold on the brake , sometime pushing it down, I may plow into the person in front of me. I thought it was. Fluke a few months ago and it's happened again, I've made an appointment tomorrow to drop the car off and see what they find. I love the car , but don't need a mind of its own either. Once I let go of the brake pedal the revs come back down below 1k as normal. That is the weird part about it.

Not trying to be silly here, are you sure you're not pressing both the brake and the gas? BMW brakes and Gas are close together, more of a 'toe and side foot' than a heel n toe setup. Would also explain why it stops when you release the brake.

I was thinking the exact same thing. The gas and brake pedal are much closer together than most vehicles. Depending on the size of your shoe it can happen.

To me this sounds like a sensor issue or a computer problem. The dealer will need to run tests with ista to check for any errors and I wouldn't be surprised if they ended up changing a box or two. Or they might just kick it back and say cannot duplicate

This happens to me sometimes but I have a manual. It makes it real easy to heel toe but sometimes when I brake using the big toe part of my shoe, the shoe hits the gas at times.

My betting money would be on this.

I wear wide shoes and this happens to me once in awhile, you're hitting the gas and brake at the same time.

I got the car back today, they did a computer software update , programming/encoding control units per tse. I don't know what that means..

I had no issue driving the car home.. odd the tech's and service advisor and manager to take the car out more? i don;t take the car out under 45 degrees since summer tires are on the car.. he said i need to open up the car to burn all the carbon deposits out. I use premium fuel, there should be no carbon deposits in the car..
