Great DIY. Thank you.
QUESTION: How is the spring removed from the front strut assembly without using a spring compressor? Is it under zero tension? I have not done a suspension job myself before and was under the impression a spring compressor is a must. |

It's under a little compression, but not much. Just be careful; or use a spring compressor.

Just installed my KW HAS kit this weekend. Thanks for putting this guide together.
Couple notes: The bump stops are often forgotten when buying these kits used. I was able to reach out to KW Germany and get a new set (4) for ~$40 shipped to SoCal The front strut bar doesn't need to come out. I just hit the front top hat bolts (18mm, 12 point) with a big impact while holding the strut and whipped on the new hardware and zapped the nut back on. Only the rubber boots covering the strut towers need to come off. For the rear, you can drop the control arm bolt where it mounts to the subframe. From there, just unbolt the strut from the control arm and from the strut tower, and drop the spring and replace. Use a jack to push the control arm back up to the rear subframe and pop the bolt through. |

63NP , I also had that rattling sound. Make sure the nut that mounts the top hat onto the strut is fully bolted down. It's hard to hold the strut rod while you do this, I ended up wrapping a pliers in duct tape to keep it from spinning.

@wickz80 Do you know the size of the e-torx bolts on the upper rear shock mount ? No one lists the size.

I'm assuming you still reused the same bolts? On mine, the rear strut tower bolts came loose. The had to be tightened again with blue locktite. This is concerning though for an the other bolts..
