Thanks for the info!
Update: I took it in for brake fluid flush and had them check both the radiator expansion tank and the charge cooler. Both levels were a bit lower than last time I checked but I wasn't getting any low coolant warnings. So they ran a pressure test on the whole system and said it checked out. Dealer also said since I have another 4 months CPO to monitor closely and bring it back if level keeps dropping.

I think it's slightly below min. Manual says the level should be between the floor of the yellow marker and the upper end of it. My charge coolant is just above the min mark. My radiator coolant is about halfway between. This is about two weeks and 300 miles from my last service visit referenced above where they checked the system.

ok been looking all over for some kind of a tutorial or video to show how to change this out. Mine is leaking like OP so I will switch it out but cant find anything to help me. The real question I have is how do you remove it without getting coolant all over? Do you need to drain some of the coolant from bottom then put it back in or whats the best way of going about it.

I had my expansion tank replaced at the dealership under my Fidelity warranty without issue for my 2018 M3 with 40802 miles. It was leaking from the seam when I brought it in and they just looked at it and said we’ll take care of it.

How much does the dealer charge for this repair?

I called to get an idea before I told them I had a warranty and I was quoted $826.

Oh that's not too bad. Makes be debate the Extended Warranty sometimes lol. It's a huge gamble of like 7-8K lol. Only thing I can really think of is catastrophic engine or transmission failure haha.

New expansion tank

I wonder if this is normal.

I had mine replaced 2 months ago. It was out of warranty obviously. But today I realized that the expansion tank is opening. But there isn't any coolant coming out.

Is that normal ?

It's normal in that it looks normal as in nothing wrong with it.

These tanks suck.
