Installed the KN filters and removed charcoal a few thousand KMs ago...easy to do with the DIY write ups on the forum. Happy with them so far.

I haven't noticed any discernible pattern. If I had to guess without looking I still think we sold more K&N filters over dry, likely cause of the price point.

Maxpsi did a thorough test of different intake options including stock, K&N w/charcoal removed, BMS, and then their intakes. Same test car running jb4 map 2, dps, and full exhaust. Hood closed.

The K&N performed just as well as the BMS intake did. the BMS one provided a tick higher wtq numbers, but nothing that would be noticeable.

Still debating if I want to do this. So on a stock engine without a tune, I will hear some induction noises? Some say they don't hear a difference and others say they do.

I hear the turbo spoolup after I converted to K&N, but only with the windows down. Hope that helps

In sport or sport + I can hear the turbos spool hard and clear as day even with my music blasting and windows up.

No complaints with my swap to K&N filters...now I'm looking at the inlet area in the kidney grill...and a simple ram air mod

Will the oil on the filter overtime ruin the MAF sensor?

No.

However when it's time to clean it and you do so improperly you run the risk of it.

BMS are not available in cali due to emissions I guess. Any other suggestion ??

Injen also makes an open-filter type intake system.
