Plus, think of the crime rate - national drop of 50%. Also weird animal-sex stuff would drop by 90% ... college student spring break binge drinking deaths would plummet ... Ok, sure, the tank top industry is gonna take a hit, we're going to have to accept that, plus most of nations golf courses but that shit is dying anyway so... Yeah. Overall I think we've got a good rock solid bi-partisan plan going here ... |

If the un calls and asks us all to be their new special diplomatic branch: Guys, we have to say no. For sure we consider things from many angles but you all are too willing to dismiss the real target everyone who has ever had kids or had babysat would approve. I'm not going to sign off on this Florida plan (I like snakes and creepy crawlies! ) if Denmark doesn't make the target list!

To above I want to be known I think we are horrible people. I ended that sentence without the butt for once to make us seem more ethical.
To say our family is Easter challenged, is an understatement of the year. Every Easter we do a routine of an Er, vet, one year I tried to kill us with bad lamb (only cooking brought to our knowledge the meat was not Finnish and clearly the cold chain had broken at some point. We went hungry since good food is required and Finland had no open shops back then on holidays. I know, this country sucks.), more er visits, drama, and so on. Our second worst day of the year is April fools day. When two of those hit the same time, someone dies, or ends up in an emergency surgery, once I lost a kid near a stream for 3 minutes and almost had a heart attack and jumped in while the kid went to pee behind a tree and couldn't hear me... If these two collide, I stay in bed these days. Call me a coward all you want but with this track record and these emergency vet bills, one dead dad and one dog running on ice that let her down and that got me swimming: I fucking hate this day! We went for a nice walk with Kissa, I trained her for an hour, nobody died. My husband also is in crisis mode on this date because we've fucking seen this movie before. Since it's the five year anniversary of my dad kicking the bucket, I went to the cemetery and light a candle on his grave, told him again that he has the ugliest headstone I've ever seen, told him about the kids and the dogs i do often on my walks too but on this date I like to do it on the spot. I had a ton of good news to share and I did. Anyway, after about five minutes of enjoying the silence of the cemetery and the beauty of the church https://fi.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Messukyl%C3%A4n_kirkko I like the bullet holes that still cover it. It was kind of the church to let it show the pain of our civil war, I naturally was attacked. Let me just tell you the circumstances better. *Most of the land here is covered in snow or ice or both which is a deadly combination for elderly especially. *I'm not exactly defenseless. I have the skills to defend myself against most attacks. * I have had bunnies as pets, and those little shits are stubborn, resilient but one wrong move and you kill them by accident. So I was bending down on the grave, talking to my dad about the kids and how happy I am to have them and how our dogs are idiots but I can't serve them for lunch since the fur wouldn't be good addition to the grill. A hard hit came from behind, on my neck. You know the fight or flight instinct? It kicked in bigly, I was pushed to the ground on the first blow so I just turned around on the ground ready to kick the living shit out of anyone who I assumed was either robbing me or being blind enough to get his kicks in other ways with me. The next hit came to my ankle and I was actually seeing stars from the first one since it got me good but the vision in front of me was so freaky I actually feared I had passed out and I was dreaming. My attacker was approximately 85 years old, her weapon was an umbrella with a wooden handle (it could've been led!) and she was about 5ft tall. She had called the police already after witnessing me vandalizing the grave and she decided I was a flight risk so she decided to hold me down until the cops came. "THIS IS MY FAMILY GRAVE AND I SAW YOU CHANGING IT!!" I couldn't very well let her risk her hips by letting her attack me on a slippery surface, I couldn't move too well because of course she hit my painful ankle so I did what all former bunny owners do: I took the fight to a safer surface for her, away from the ice to the snow, avoided the hits, prayed for the cops to show up or for her to exhaust her energy. She started to complain about her poor heart and dropped on her knees and that's when I realized I might end up performing cpr on the war heros graves to a women who is old enough to have dated them. I got her to lie down, elevated her feet, tracked her pulse while talking to the cops about me actually not attempting to kill her, but that I would need a minute to be able to explain to them what the fuck just happened. Anyway, apparently she was a distant cousin of my grandma, and since my mom demanded to bury my dad to the pompous family grave and apparently she is suffering from Alzheimer, she saw a hooligan doing drugs on her family grave. I know it is only +2 Celsius here but I run hot so I run around in t shirts and running shoes already. I had a Pittsburg penguins hat on, and I'm sure most Finns agree with you guys that that's actually a bad thing but I love my Mario memorabilia. Apparently I'm on drugs now for lighting a match to set a candle on my dad's grave. I have a sore neck, a sore ankle, and a story that matches most of the events our family goes through every fucking Easter, especially when April fools hit this damn holiday. Edit: I came home limping and told the hubby what happened he just said that being attacked by an angry elderly person is a new one to fear in the future. And no, this wasn't an Aprils fools. This is my very unreal life. Second edit: I'll work on my vocabulary. Anyway or a fuck is not the only ways to start a sentence.

FYI, the Russians sure do love Fox News:
* Russia-linked Twitter accounts are rallying in support of Fox News host Laura Ingraham after she drew scorn for mocking Parkland shooting survivor David Hogg's grades on Twitter. |

Do you have an urge to attack teenagers often? I'm not sure how good or bs a 4.1 gpa in your system is, ours through frist to hs is 4-10, in universities a 1-5 grading is used. No matter what, even if he only passed one class, or was he over 80% better than he could've been to pass, why the fuck are people whining over an adult attacking a kid and the kid actually slapping back? Is this some new voodoo logic nobody told me about beforehand? Didn't the bald dick presenter also go for a preplanned vaca to never to return? Bill oriley or something? I'm working on figuring out why being a man or old is required to explain this but I was attacked today! I don't have to operate on full deck!

You're new here, stop that shit or I'll tell everyone you're a Jets fan!
The hits keep on rolling today! I swear to coffee you did not read my story! I just won a fight against a young puck on his prime, probably an mma veteran too! I took him down so hard I had to start monitoring her pulse! I'm going to tell it that way from today on. I'm okay with being beaten up by a girl since one of my besties was in junior national teams here in karate and she has taken me down repeatedly. But to be taken down by a 5ft midget with a walking stick or an umbrella is not exactly an ego boost! Especially since she was 50 years my senior. I do get a point for being from a breed of really, really angry bat shit crazy females. I'm not sure if she actually is a blood relative or not (and that's my family grave btw. I'm the only one who is continuing the blood line, I'm the rightful heir of the spot, and I could set the whole fucking place on fire and nobody could claim I'mdestroying their property if we don't count my mom.) but she sure did act like one.

My only problem is our dog will not let us take pictures anymore. He started growling and barking when we tried to take pictures of my kids birthday party last night. I suspect Easter pictures will be the same today.

I was just doing basic training with her today, so basically sit, heel, wait, fetch, gut that man I marked. When she is on heat she has zero energy so I teach her tricks then. One of our favorites is when I point her a direction and she backs to that direction for as long as I tell her to. Today, she ran her mouth while backing. She was telling me in her own way that she was in control, she was telling me she had a say. If I remember correctly your dog is also a Shepard, not the same breed basically a breed which functions the same way. Do the same takedown. Find the spot where yours thinks he can negotiate and then rain in the hell. I made mine do basic follow command for 15, basic sit or lay down for 20. The one where I command her to back away and to stay away for 30 until we got the message through. I'm the boss, no tiny dog eating (my fault, my ankle has been a bitch and me taking a stance means she takes one too) since their owners feel about them like I feel about mine, and then I made a friend of mine to wear Kevlar and told her that he was a bad man. Don't go for pics straight away, find the spot where your dog thinks he/ she has a say, and grind on that for a bit. The problem is not the photo, so forget that thought and make the border collie work for you. Did I remember the breed tight? And congrats dad! You're like 1/3 done! 30 more years and you'll probably die anyway so you won't have to stress over them for long anymore!

I don't know why it took me this long to see it but why do people seem to have the need to try and win an internet argument? Granted I have been baited into that myself but really?

Just one example. Russia has been touting their SU-57 "5th gen" stealth fighter for years. By all expert analysis it looks top be more a 4.5 gen fighter and not a true 5th gen one like the F-22/F-35 etc. After years and years of trying to scare people with them they finally built a few of them and deployed some to Syria as a scare tactic/show of force. This is while they are still in testing and not fully combat ready from what I've read. So my summary, is good for you waste a shit ton of rubles on it and wreck your economy more Putin. It's all for show because we couldn't stop the old ones anyway. Also, have you noticed how quiet the US military brass have been about new weapons? It makes me very curious as to what they have cookin behind the scenes. |

Now they have a war-provoking President who avoided military service due to "bone spurs" (despite his busy tennis schedule), and an NSA who's never served, never been to VA hospital, never been to Arlington, has no family in the military, but reaches for military power as his #1 diplomatic solution. I have no doubt that we'll be redeploying - probably in multiple places. And that ain't cheap, and given Trump wants to take money from, say, the Marine Corp, to pay for a political vanity, their job will be even tougher. |

I mean, its a shame SSOTT 1.0 got itself all blowed up, cause I would love to go back and re-read how cray-cray I was with my views that trump would be a moronic destroyer of 'murica versus the 'instrument of change/maverick/outside the box/just what the doctor ordered/non-conforming/business-and-strategic-genius/moderate-and-presidential-type-once-in-office-type' that some folks on here thought. Boy, would *I* be embarrassed by how wrong I was.... Anyway, still on my break between the trial here (another few weeks then back in) but I will say that the one nice thing about trial phase I was how it generally made me unable to follow much on twitter/the news/etc on a daily basis. I completely fell out of the cycle of trump watching (step 1 - trump says something idiotic; step 2 - those with brains call him on his idiocy; step 3 - weak/half-assed 'concern' on idiocy from GOP; step 4 - state news (aka FOX) and the usual gang of idiots assemble to 'defend' trump, usually saying he didnt really mean to say what he just said; step 5 - trump repeats exactly what he just said; step 6 - pundits looking to get a name for themselves give it the old 'both sides' analysis; step 7 - we start all over, etc) Trump has done at least 100 things that would have brought down any other politician. But, as I said a couple of years ago, what makes Trump so dangerous and powerful is that to bring down a politician you require one thing: the politician to have a sense of shame. No matter how awful, most politicians know deep down when they have done something wrong and when we shame them we appeal to that core (no matter how deeply buried it is - it exists and will cause nearly anyone to eventually say 'yeah, that was too much...I gotta step away....'.). Trump lacks that core. He is the man without shame; he is a serial liar who has never, to his mind, told a lie. He is the man who holds himself up as a family values conservative while paying off his porn star girlfriends, etc. None of it bothers him. None of it. In fact, after 16 months it is clear that the ONLY thing that seems to bother him is when the american public and media don't fawn over him... Anyway, my point is that by falling out of the trump action/reaction cycle, I can tell you with more distance: nothing changes. Trump is no closer to being forced out today than he was 4 months ago when i was last actively following him or a year ago or when he was inaugurated. Nothing he has done, however awful and disqualifying for ANY other politician (dem or gop), will force him out. He won't be impeached. He is here for the rest of this term and probably one more because his supporters have already concluded they don't care how awful he is and many of those who didnt really like him before but reluctantly supported him (using hillary hatred as an excuse) are making terms with their choices. In fact, as I said a little over a year ago, the only real question I have been looking to answer is whether his election was a blip on the road that is this golden age of Americana or an indication of something more - like the wheels falling off the train. Stepping back, I am more convinced now than ever that it is likely something more. Much of the damage he is causing to your country will be more permanent than I had hoped. The damage he is doing to the institutions that protect and support your democracy (from the media to the judiciary to the political) is serious and a lot of that will not heal (or not heal easily). Further, much of the damage he is causing will spread further beyond your country. His brands of politics are not new, but they will infect other countries. His tearing down of the fundamental institutions of democracy will....hopefully not spread as far. I think the rest of the world will be more resilient in the long run, but I do think that Trump probably represents a point in time when historians will look back and note that the decline of america's place in the world either began or rapidly accelerated. Put another way, globalized liberal democracy in the general sense will continue, but your place at the front of that line is far from certain. ....I just don't see how a country that can't figure out that killing kids is not OK and that spends so much of its time on non-existent crises can take on, let alone claim to take on, any position of leadership or dominance in the world. America will still be the richest and most powerful country for a while (the gap is too great for those objective measures of dominance to disappear overnight) but the gap in hard power is going to close, faster than it should and the gap in soft power will close even more rapidly. Anyway, that is what I am thinking now. Bets on whether the next 5-10 years proves me right or wrong?

So I de-activated my Facebook account. About a week now - don't miss it even a little bit. They sure miss it though - had to go through about 6 "are you really really sure" screens. It's only de-activated so I can re-activate it later if I want. I'll probably go 6 months or so and then remove it entirely.
Also dropped Twitter on my phone. Still have it but not on my phone. Taking privacy more seriously these days.

I've never been on facebook other than having an account which is just a shell and I haven't been able to log in to for 4 years, and twitter I use a little more, but to lurk, i've hardly ever posted or re-tweeted anything. My theory is, making life easier means I have to trust someone, but I should trust as few companies as possible - just one in this case. So Google has my cloud data - I wouldn't be opposed to adding Apple, but I've always been annoyed by itunes and beyond an original iphone and ipad haven't been wooed back. I just got a new android phone I love for $250! (moto x4) and on project Fi it's ~$35/mo for service internationally. so just can't see paying a fortune for an iphone, and I wouldn't use an iwatch. I should also note that I have a decent awareness of Google's privacy and security policies for search and they're immense. I would be stunned if any of this facebook stuff came up with Google. Further I would say, not at all trying to be religious, that Google is a secure data services company that has branched into devices, but at their core they're data centers and cloud services, which means high security on data that then opens outward. Google itself runs analytics on our data, but internally for the purposes of serving ads, and all of those analytics and data is and always has been on their site since it's their IP. So culturally, Google is a high security cloud data and advertising company from day 1. Facebook, however, is a data SHARING company from day 1. Their business model is to collect data from users and facilitate sharing of that data with others. Worse, IMO, they've never understood that they're an advertising company. They talk about connecting the world blah blah blah, but they don't talk about advertising which is where they get their money. That tells me they don't know what they are. So they're a company built on data sharing with an identity crisis. Not a good recipe for security. Apple is a PC and devices company from day 1. From there they've branched into cloud and data services which, if we're all being honest, they haven't done that well. Further, they realize that ultimately devices will become a commodity and disappear so they must transition into services, but that's not their core. So I would also say Apple has a bit of an identity crisis and that may ultimately risk data. Amazon is a cloud data services company from day 1 - unlike Google who sells advertising to businesses, Amazon sells consumer stuff and then business services, but they're similar in that at their core, Amazon is a secure cloud data service company. For that reason I would also be stunned if Amazon had security issues. Anyway, that's why I've settled on Google for now: at their core they're a secure cloud data services company, and they have every consumer service I need, most of which are best in class. |
