Unfortunately not, I think I'm out of luck! Too bad, I really loved the anti-dazzle setup of my old car.

I did a fair bit of research on that when I had my 2015 M4, which had the full adaptive LED and the KAFAS camera for the speed limit info. Without the right HBA steering column, I just did not have the proper HBA computer module to be able to program GFHB, which was a huge disapointment to me. It would have been cost prohibitive at the time to replace the steering column (you cannot only replace the stalk).

I realize this is a bit of an older thread, but as MY18 cars continue to fall into the hand of second owners (such as myself), I'd imagine this topic will begin to re-emerge as new owners try to get the most out of their cars.
After reading dozens of pages of posts among multiple threads, this one nails it with the discovery of physical hardware differences between US spec'd cars and RoW, regardless of part number. To serve as an extra data point, my MY18 (manufactured 3/2018) is in fact missing the third GFHB LED on the driver's side headlight, and as such, can not correctly have anti-dazzle coded in. Like others, my window sticker does show "S5AP - Decoding Anti-Glare High-Beam Assistant", even though the hardware itself isn't capable. If you're in question if the feature is possible, take a look at the lower-right LED array your driver's headlight and compare the number of LEDs, or simply the circuit board and look for extra resisters/SMTs. Cheers

So, i have read through this thread a few times now. I previously had a '15 M3 and had coded in the GFHB and it worked great, so I know what they should look like. Recently picked up a used '18 M3 CS and was hoping to code this in as well. From what I can tell, the folks who said they had the one LED and the extra circuitry missing posted part numbers that ended in 3 or 4 depending on L or R. Others who have gotten it to work fine had part numbers that ended in 9 or 0 (10). My lights end in 0 for the right and 9 for the left and I have the circuitry and the three LEDs in the outer HB housing. I think I'm going to grab the latest ESYS and see if I can code it in again. Will report my findings.

I知 so sorry and rather embarrassed to post, but would love a little help.
I have a 2018, Canadian F82 M4 Competition with LED headlamps and adaptive headlights. I don稚 have the KAFAS2 or FLA cameras however. I have coded several goodies using Bimmercode. Decoding my VIN reveals: S5AP Decoding Anti-Glare High-Beam Assistant S552 Adaptive LED Headlight S563 Light Package S8S4 Decoding, Variable Light Distribution I値l ask the eternal question and fear I may be berated, but hey, I値l have a go! Can I code the VLD and anti dazzle features? Any help or pointers are appreciated. In Vancouver if that helps a kind soul :-) Last edited by Beansy; 02-26-2022 at 01:11 AM.. |

I have a 2018 340i with the adaptive headlight package, build date 9/2018. The photos in this thread look nothing like my headlights. I have attached a few photos. What headlights are these? and can they be coded for anti-dazzle feature?
Thank you! |

Unfortunately you can not code it. The regular 3 series headlights are different than the M3 headlights. M3 headlights are the same as 4 series headlights. I know they can not be coded cause i tried to also do this with an LCI 328d that would have the same headlights as you and it does not work. You can buy euro spec headlights from ebay in Germany and reuse your old modules. This is the only way you will have functional GFHB for your car. If you do the programming without changing out the headlight assembly you will just blind everyone driving down the road.

If you wanna spend some money on new headlights i would highly recommend. I got euro headlights for both my f31 and f80 and i think completely worth it.

Curious here, and apologies if this already has been discussed. Irrespective of the adaptive headlight function NA vs. EU headlights, when on main or high beam with no traffic interference to activate the adaptive function, is the light output the same? In other words, on a rural country road with no other traffic do the main/high beam of NA and EU LED headlights have the same light output?
