Poll-What Crank Hub Upgrade, did upgrade spin, & Mileage after upgrade? PLEASE VOTE!

*Update - THIS POLL IS NOT ABOUT THE STOCK CRANK HUB SPINNING. THIS IS SPECIFIC TO UPGRADED HUBS AND IS ASKING:

1) WHAT HUB DID YOU UPGRADE TO?
2) DID THE HUB UPGRADE SPIN?
3) IF THE UPGRADE DID NOT SPIN, HOW MANY MILES HAVE YOU SUCCESSFULLY PUT ON THE UPGRADE?
4) IF THE UPGRADE DID SPIN, HOW MANY MILES DID YOU PUT ON THE UPGRADE WHEN IT SPUN?

Relatively new member (soon to be in the market for a Crank Hub fix) that has been reading about the Crank Hub issues/upgrades/polls. There still seems to be a debate on the best design or brand so wanted to see what people are running and how long they’ve been running them for.

I don't think I've seen a poll that shows the spread of the various Crank Hub upgrades, if the upgrade spun, or the mileage they've racked up after the upgrade. I tried to capture all of the upgrades but for anything I didn't specifically include, please choose "Other Crank Hub Fix".

I've allowed multiple choices to be made per member in the event someone installed an upgrade, then installed another for whatever reason.

Surprised to see a Max Psi crank hub failure. F82George, care to elaborate? Interested to hear the specific details around the failure.

The poll seems a bit ambiguous. Under No SCH vs SCH Failure, it's not clear if you mean "experienced SCH stock then upgraded to X", or "experienced SCH while running upgrade from X".

Take the Max PSI result you mention for example. Did they spin the stock hub then upgrade, or upgrade then spun the new hub?

Apologies if the Poll isn’t clear but the latter. This Poll is supposed to ask:

1) what did you upgrade to?
2) did the upgrade spin or not?
3) how many miles have you put on the upgrade without spinning or until it spun?

Maybe I should have worded the poll differently to say “no SCH after upgrade” or “SCH failure after upgrade”.

Interested to hear from other members if this Poll was also unclear to them or if this is helpful at all. If members aren’t sure what is being asked, I’ll just scrap it.

Many people are surprised about things they do not hear about, it does not mean they are not happening. The reason people heard about the V1 failure is because we do none of the usual tactics to keep people from posting, threaten warranty denial, some companies go as far as to threaten lawsuits if people post. On the other hand, we own it if something goes wrong, and usually, that means people know about it. We have received multiple emails for people with pinned style hubs that have failed looking to switch over to a V2 spline lock and all issues were resolved. Why none of those cases make their way onto the internet is not our concern, nor is it our business to post about them. Looking at the results after one day. We see one V1 failure, looks like 2 Max Psi style failures. Interested to see if people who were hiding failures before will post now.

Edited: Misread the poll the first time

how'd you manage to spin a rod and fry a piston? this seems very uncommon!

Thanks for the note - just hoping to get a good honest representation of what's going on out there and hopefully some additional context from those that have had failures.

This should benefit all involved in one way or another - manufacturers, vendors, consumers and potential consumers.

This is a very confusing post.
Did someone burn a piston before or after upgrade?
Did someone spin hub after upgrade or before?
Maybe get a clarification on the ones that did vote
It could have been worded a bit better before we get this VTT guy jumping ahead trying to say how everyone else's solution has spun and calling insane's one piece crank hub a max psi copy.

It could have been worded a bit better before we get this VTT guy jumping ahead trying to say how everyone else's solution has spun and calling insane's one piece crank hub a max psi copy.
You are right, the one-piece hub is a worse design than MaxPsi. Going to a one-piece hub serves no purpose other than making installation more difficult. I assume you read our Facebook bpost where we stated as much. Making a 1 piece hub to solve the issue simply means you do not understand the inherent problem, and the proper way to address it. So far the results are speaking for themselves, 3 pinned hubs spun, and 1 one piece. Glad to see some of these coming to light

Did someone burn a piston before or after upgrade?
Did someone spin hub after upgrade or before?
Maybe get a clarification on the ones that did vote

Hey
Maybe they had a batch of bad hubs that they didn't catch and will also offer a version 2.
Just like in your case we should give them the benefit of doubt. One thing I didn't catch yet any of the other hub manufacturers do is talk crap about your design even when your failures came to light but you use every opportunity to trash talk every single other hub. Maybe it's because they have failures too or they don't do business as you guys say you do.
One thing I can say is that anyone offering a solution and not do their due diligence is nothing more than a scammer. At least if I buy something from eBay or through PayPal I'll get my money back.
What u think you don't understand is this
You sold something as a solution
Didn't do your proper job
Many installed that faulty item in their car and lost money doing it
Free upgrade or not they still lost money
Now is you trashing other hubs making you feel better?
Done talking to you

I heard 1 piece design is better than a two piece. I think gintiani was a 1 piece. And they cost alot.

Not to be a downer, but...

Between the confusion of what the poll options actually mean, the questionable statistical relevance of the poll itself due to sampling bias, and the potential for spreading FUD... I'm not sure what good can come of this.

Is a degree required to figure out all those options and numbers? I barely graduated high school so forgive me.
Anyway, Gintani upgrade with 10k miles on it with an aggressive DMEtuning flash on race gas. On Pure Stage 2 turbos now with 2k miles....all good.
