English car...really? New Jaguars look nice but have a LOT to prove as far as reliability and value for the money (which is more). Personally, I wouldn't pay up for something so unproven (reliability).

Interesting rumors, thanks for the awareness. I'm a bit skeptical that there will be two entries, but time will tell. Offering 542hp in This segment would certainly grab headlines.

always glad to see more competition,
consumers get the best of MFG as they would need to improve and or innovate or lose sales

"....with power coming from a supercharged V8 engine developing 488 bhp (364 kW) and 461 lb-ft (625 Nm) which will be enough for a 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) run in less than 5 seconds."

While true, I'm sure that's a typo. In any case, competition is good right?

I've had 2 Jags XFS since 2010. Not a single problem. Still have 1. I love it

Things change. The new Jaguars could very well be better. I think they all look great but the ones I've looked at are $80M plus too. Right?

The F Type does look nice. If you guys say they are better on maintenance I would consider one.

My brother worked for jaguar in service for 2 months... Had to quit because of how horrible jaguars are.. Literally they would repair some stupid issue, and 2 days later the same person would come back with same issue... He said they had so many issues and complaints he felt horrible working their and having to find a way to keep people happy. No jag for me

$80M = 80 Million Dollars, I think you would be hard pressed to find any car priced for $80M nevertheless a Jaguar. The most expensive car in the world sold is the Lamborghini Veneno for $3.9 million.

On reliability, if you do some comparison research like on reliability index.com; BMW 3-series has a reliability index of 207 and Jaguar has one of 211.

The UK Reliability index takes into account all factors of repairs, the cost of the parts and the frequency of failures - The Average of all cars is 100 which means that if the figure for the car you are looking at has a higher than average index (118) it indicates that that car is less reliable than the average, if however there is a lower than average index (60) the reliability is better.

Bottom Line; if you want reliable, buy a Mitsubishi Lancer with a rating of 6.
