Just read online @ AutoMobileMag:

http://www.automobilemag.com/auto_sh...-f-first-look/

"The weight target is a rather husky 3970 pounds."

If that is really true, it would be pretty disappointing and would make it a real porker.

Agreed. Wow I hope that is not true. This article also provides a hp figure of 450 hp, is 480 hp firm, perhaps the 450 figure partially discredits the source on the weight. The car will not be competitive with the M4, strip or track at that weight.

my friend how are you!? I hope your new year has been off to a good start! My heart hurts as my two favorite BMW's simply do not excite me as their older generation and I am talking about the 3er and x5. I remember seeing my first e90 and falling madly in love, it was intense and passionate. When i saw my first e70 i couldnt stop thinking "damn what a beastly, sexy, militant vehicle that is, it oozes testosterone." When I saw my first X5M... well words cant describe it and they never will be able to. militant as FUCK, dominating presence. Putting my eyes on the first e90 m3, it was sex, pure visual sex with a nymphomaniac that one is deeply in love with.

I saw the new 3 series, instantly turned off by NUMEROUS styling cues. Same can be said for the new X5. new 5 series was "acceptable" but still not beefy enough for me. Bangle is my hero, he is my inspiration. I love him, I miss him dearly. I knew the moment he left BMW things would go down, but I certainly never imagined this. They have undone all of the hard work he has put into giving the cars their unique identity. this new philosophy of joined headlights, bloated hoods and massive vertical gills... i can go on. Its bullshit, and I am upset that i like this new M235 thing more than the new M3/4 and why? because no joined headlights. THE FUCK THAT SHIT IS PISSING ME OFFF!!!!!

I am angry. i am ohh so very angry. its tough standing by BMW blindly while everyone else is taking a dump on us, mainly AMG. I couldnt be fucked with anyone else, but these AMG's are killing the M's these days and I would be the last person to say this... i already want to delete that just because I should never say that but im gonna put it on record.

How the fuck is the new generation of M3's going to compete with its rivals? it wont, it will loose in terms of performance but will sell as BMW is simply relying on the power of the M symbol and they shouldnt. I remember the days where I could brag that any M would most likely destroy all of its competitors in class within all the M's. Now I cant even say that.

/end massive fucking rant.

The RCF looks like e promising NA alternative if everyone hates the turbo driver train from the M4!

Seats are sexy too...

Lexus looks like Infinity G coupe in overall shape on outside. It must have tractor size radiator for tractor size grill!

Thanks for posting the link. Another interesting take.

I agree that weight figure is disheartening. But, let's wait to hear the official information. Like all other weight specs that pass through here, we should take that with a grain of salt until we can confirm it, and just as importantly, we can verify exactly what is being included in that number.

In the meantime, I wonder how the weights of the standard RC models compare to the weights of the "equivalent" 4 Series models? I'll have to look it up.

Seriously,

RC-F is hands down much more aggressive than the M4 coupe.

M4 desperately needs a huge "Life Cyle Impulse" thing...

+1 for blind spot. Its the same issue with CTS-V. I took it for a spin and blind spot killed it for me especially on the highways.

RC-F front looks like an alien to me. def. not digging it.

I totally agree with Lexus. We have too many similar cars now. M3, RS5, C63... they are very exciting cars but they are similarily conventional, design wise. I'm glad Lexus is thinking outside of box. I can't wait until I see this RCF pull up in front of my office building. Unlike those German cars, this car will scream, and that's what Lexus is trying to do, and this RCF will indeed do it for Lexus.

The market needs this. It's no longer the same usual big 3 anymore. Good job Lexus.

On the other note, one member mentioned it's a good year for the enthusiasts. yea I agree. we have so many choices now. From the new C class, M235i, M3/M4, C7 Z06, RCF, GTR Nismo... i'm loving it even when I can only read about these cars.

there is another article which states that the rc-f will be heavier than the outgoing isf which was 3800 lbs

this will not be competitive with the m3.

I still look for safety but if mirrors are set correctly there should be no blind spots. But it prob does have detectors. I like driving up and then slowing down to watch other ppls detectors go off

Why cant they make their cars more like the GS. Thats a nice looking car with their samurai predator spindle grill while at the same time not looking like barf.

I thought the isf was a great looking car - did lexus not??

BMW is in crisis!! There is no strategy. Selling appliances works but not at these prices and limp modes. Their R&D is clearly spent on "I" models that are bs. The fact that I am more excited about new Ford, Chevy, MB, Alfa, Nissan high perf vehicles than my BMW is disturbing. They are lost in the woods. It's a sad time for BMW.
