I've seen a velvet blue e46 in person and I owned an Interlagos e90 and I would disagree. It's not the same, but it is similar depending on lighting.

The pictures make it look like techno violet, but in person it looks like a deep purple shade of IB. Stunning either way. Bad ass car.
