30k miles maintenance questions

I bought a 17 M3 ZCP a few weeks back. The car now have 28k miles and the 30k mile maintenance is coming soon.

I'll change everything that need to be replaced or maintained, even the ventilation microfilter. But I want to know, what other things you took in consideration when you made this maintenance? What filter you recommend. If you DYI this maintenance and that kind of stuff.

I want to keep the car in the excellent condition that I bought it as long as possible.

Spark plugs and engine intake filters should be part of the 30k mike service as well. Aside from using castrol 0w40 for my engine oil, everything else I use including filters is all oem.

Any reason for changing to Castro's?

Never used Castrol before, so I don't have any experience with its products.

Just been using it for years and it's inexpensive and easy to get through Walmart or amazon. Carried the LL01 approval until recently but is still approved by every other German auto maker.

I just joined the forum for this exact question. Thanks!

Also I noticed there are 2 different air filters labeled for cylinder bank 1 and cylinder bank 2, what does that mean? And how how do I know which air filter goes on which side?

I don't mean to hijack this thread but I'm in a similar position. Purchased my car CPO with about 25k miles. Anybody know what's replaced with the CPO inspection other than the oil?

Each filter will only fit in one side. Once you open the air boxes you'll see they only go in one way.

Friendly bump for any advice on my situation.
Coming up on 3 years on my 2018. Has 11,800 miles.
Brake fluid light came on.
Scheduled an appt for that and it seems I should call back and request spark plugs and oil change since I’m already there. Sounds fair ? Anything else ? Planning to keep this car till death.

I believe when they scan your key it will tell them that all those items are due. They'll gladly take care of it for you I'm sure, just show up

Just bought my 2017 M3 (26.5k miles) and it needed brake fluid flush, Oil/filter, battery (yikes) and I went ahead with the spark plugs. It was going to total $1,700 so dealer said buy the maintenance for the additional year...got him down to $1550 on that and I will likely get one more oil change and maybe if I need brake pads he said I could squeak that in before May of '21. I think I did OK, at least for dealer pricing. My reco: ask for a discount on the plan...they have room.

I got told the same thing. spark plugs, brake bleed, oil and filters. I had 8K miles on the car. its a timed required service not based on mileage. mine was about a 1000 euro so $1200. I just did the oil and save myself a $1100, I put it to carbon mods. I am doing the full service when I hit 30K...I am out of warranty though

Is there any specific reason why a new battery is needed in just 3 years/26.5k miles?

Mine's at 41k miles and coming up on 3 years.

Haven't seen any issues, could just be a faulty battery for him.

The reason the battery went is that it sat on the dealer lot for 7 months. 3 of those months were Covid-19 and nobody started it. I have to say bmw did the right thing and warranted out the battery. They should last 5 years minimum.
