Wow, look at those meaty tires!
Being able to fit 305 wide tires in front under stock fenders is so nice!!

Glad you are liking it.

Not sure if I asked you, but did you cross shop vette? Or gt350?

NT-01s?
I find myself doing some light slides in my cars just to keep the steering feel for front/rear grip. I’m still working from a central office and have a nice double left turn onto 4 lanes, quite fun to slide every morning on the way to work.

Yes I did. I've wanted to have a vette since I was a little kid, but after driving my friend's Z06 around Mid-Ohio last year it made my choice easier. They're great cars but something just felt "right" about the 1LE, almost like the feeling of driving the E36, E46, and F80 for the first time. I don't particularly like the driving position of the Corvette either. I'll definitely have a C7 GS or C8 at some point, but for $15-20k less now this just made more sense.

The GT350 was on the list as well, but I never had chance to drive one. They're starting to get into the low $40k's but that was a bit more than I wanted to spend. However, I do think the chassis is a bit better on the Camaro. It'll remain a bucket list car purely for that beautiful-sounding engine.

Since all track days are cancelled.
I’m also choosing to work from the office which means that you get your temperature scanned at the gate from an employee in full PPE.

I gonna have a fun Friday and show up in my racing helmet and gloves, why not?

Got bored. Ordered stickers. Now I can work on my line while staring at my car in the garage. Wife thinks I'm weird.

Yes, NT01’s and while not the stickiest, working well while learning new tracks of SoCal

“May” have been a track day last Saturday.....

My GUESS is that with a pro driving and making use of the aero support on the car, the rs would have been faster.

But that’s the thing with being the owner and not being a pro that I have personally realized, is a cheaper car that’s easy to replace is a lot easier mentally to push hard than a $$ limited production car

They have been testing one at my local track, 1:22 is very quick for a stock car on street tires and I'm looking forward to seeing how they modify it.

Agreed. This video is a straw-poll with a typical youtube clickbait title, but certainly not discounting the C8's capabilities here. Just feel like neither driver in the video has had a ton of seat-time to really make it a good comparison. They just happened to catch a video of two cars on the track at the same time.

I am sure the C8 is a hell of a ride, but random track day videos don’t mean squat as the driver is such an important variable, as well as the car’s state of tune.

This is why I’m starting to want a user brz/frs as my track toy. Tracking the f80 is fun but getting $$$ with track insurance

Yep yep. Welcome to my thought process circa 2017 and congrats on reaching a track day addiction level where a dedicated track car could actually make sense financially.

Not so sure a dedicated track car is cheaper. Between car, trailer, tow vehicle, track prep etc it should be actually cheaper to track the F80. Someone who’s done both can chime in hopefully.

Ah let me clarify. I meant a cheaper car I can drive to the local HPdE event. Haha I’m not on that level as some of you guys, but I’m starting to enjoy the whole slow car fast Notion

Happen to be out there mixing it up with this particular C8 and 1:32 at big Willow is pretty legit, particularly with PS4S

Depends on the platform and the level of hauling and trackside support you are purchasing for your track car

i met someone doing arrive and drive with manufacturer support in a radical SR8, and I’m sure tracking an f80 street car would be an absolute value play for him!

Year long track insurance policy is usually a better deal, but also totally agree with the frs/brz comment. Have driven one and its a blast. If I had to cut costs and get rid of the M, that'd be the car I would buy to be the daily and track toy with a few bolt-ons and tune to fix the power band.
