So just when I thought everything was perfect...

I remember seeing it when I bought the car, thought it was just the join and how it looked. Don't think the CF is actually cracked, just the lacquer perhaps?

I'm still under BMW warranty and have the BMW Service Inclusive but I don't think this is covered is it?

Cheers

Ouch... That looks like it is shot to me - easily done though - you could take to a local bodyshop to see if they think they could work some magic with lacquer which may disguise it well enough. I guess the test is to get hold of it and give it a bit of a flex and see you see movement at the damage - if you do it will only crack again. I think it is around £750 for a new one... Or you could look at an alternative like the CS splitter... As you bought it recently I would take it back to the dealer - if they are BMW they may meet you half way on the price - but who's to say you've not just done it unless it shows in the photos when you bought it? I think I can make it out on the pictures you posted the other day. I'm sure there are plenty more informed people out there that may be able to offer a better view...

I have to say, this should have been pointed out to the dealer before you took the car. You noticed it & really should have looked closer at the time.
Gutted for you nonetheless, but once you took it without pointing out, dealer won't be interested I fear.
Will keep my fingers crossed for you getting somewhere with them.

Yeah I didn't know to check it or see it while I was at the dealer dammit. Sadly it's 350 miles away so I'll just have to live with it for now. I'll check if it wiggles around as advised tomorrow and if it does then take it off.

Cheers all
