It all depends on your body type-- I'm 5'-11" 175 lbs. Unlike the regular seats, there is no lumbar or side bolster adjustments or the extendable thigh supports. Unfortunately, you just need to sit in it. Having said that, I have to say that the ZCP seats are far more comfortable to me than the seats I had in my regular F82. Good luck!
There is no extendable thigh support on F82 regular seats, only F83 (which are far more comfortable than F82 for daily driving IMO).

I was aware the ZCP seats dont have adjustable lumbar support but this is the first time I heard there there is no side bolster adjustment. If talking about the seat bottom side bolsters, they don't adjust on the regular seats either - only side bolsters on seat backs.

Hmmm- I thought some of the F82s had the extended thigh support...

Yes-- I was referring to the seat backs. And the ZCP seats do not have the side bolster adjustment-- not on mine anyway.

Are you sure about that?

As far as I know, side bolster adjustment is a standard feature on all CP seats.

I'll look again in my car (maybe I'm missing it) -- just making sure we're talking about the same thing... this is to widen or narrow the side bolsters on the back rest?

Yes, it is a smaller switch. I confused it for my old lumbar switch until I remembered there is no lumbar adjustment in CP seats.

Yes

I would be very surprised you do not have it.

The side bolster thing isn't tight enough. At max inflate it barely touches my sides so it doesn't give a lot of support. That's my only complaint.

Just found mine for the first time since I’ve had the car. Tiny little rectangular black horizontal box cut into two cubes behind the slider. Unbelievable. Guess they’re not that important to me.

Second that! I'm 155# with a 32" waist and they hold me in place in both my '16 M4 non-CP and my wife's '18 CP, only the CP does it even better.

Yep, it's there! I totally missed the button! I never even thought to adjust the bolsters because the seat fits me so well and seriously did not even notice the small rectangular button down there. Guess I should now post in the "What did you learn or discover about your M3/M4 today" thread

I came from a 997.2 C2S with 14-way couch, the M3 CP seats are VERY comfortable in comparison. Hope this helps as a point of comparison.

I'm 5′11" and 165 lbs. Pretty normal.

I just have god-like aesthetics . Thin waist and broad shoulders. The shoulder bolsters on the seats feel a bit too tight actually.

Hmm thanks. I'm going to try the $35 amazon lumbar thing to see if that fixes it. Not sure if its lack of lumbar support or insufficient seat bottom cushion that is the culprit but I really don't want to sit on a pillow :
Well I test drove this today - won't be winning any style points...

I think it's too thick and after about an hour I removed it and felt relieved so that's not a ringing endorsement.

Same size here and the CP seats are ideal for me. The shoulder bolsters are what really hold me in and they hold me in extremely well to the point that I don't even need to use the dead pedal when canyon carving.

The lack of lumber support is a small issue for me - the lower back does get a little sore after driving the M3. Other than this I find the CP seats nearly perfect for a sport seat.

My wife and I just completed our first post-Euro Delivery road trip, driving from San Diego up to the Santa Ynez area for a weekend wine tour with the Los Angeles BMW CCA Chapter. Roughly 250 miles up on Friday and back again on Sunday, with probably 40-50 miles on both Saturday and Sunday between wineries on windy, twisty and many times bumpy roads. The CP seats were comfortable and extremely supportive.

This just reinforced our experience during our 13 day 1400 mile Euro Delivery where we found the seats completely comfortable driving between 2 and 6 hours daily. I have a bad back and went through PT for a couple of months earlier this year. The seats don't bother me.

My only complaint is the width of the seat bottom bolsters (not sure what they're called) - they keep my legs closer together than I'm comfortable, and dig in a bit. I'm 5'11 / 210, fwiw.

Edit - after paying closer attention, the seats hold me very snug at my lats - so it's the upper portion of the side bolsters doing all of the work and they are highly effective for someone my size. It's almost as if they were designed for a slim/medium build as I fit snug but comfortably - almost no lateral free play between my torso and the bolsters. My shoulders rest lightly against the wings but very little lateral support happens there. My legs fit easily between the lower bolsters... but I'm skinny at 5'11/165.

I could easily see how a big guy would be squished.
