I agree !

Not much motivation to change from one full LED to another

The rear lights however ... quite the opposite

The rear tails will just be like the current option with pnp. I believe it'll just be a module and the LCI taillights. The headlights, I am assuming it will be the same as well.

Would be keen on the swap if BMW switched to a projector setup like in the new 5

But functionally they are no different and still a reflector based setup, though it looks like they flipped the low and high beam

I actually just ordered the F83 LCI tail lights with retrofit wire and all, will update with pics within a couple weeks!

Does anyone know or can confirm if the new LCI headlights are plug and play and what retrofit harness if any is needed for this? I have the lighting package currently trying to see if any whizzes can confirm with me what part numbers from realoem.com I would need to order to make it happen

I don't know of anyone who has been able to retrofit the new black Iconic headlights

Interested also whether this is a simple swap with cars which already have LED Adaptive

The new LCI headlights are Adaptive lights and a £1200 option on a new car, if you don't spec it you get LED lights. The new lights come under the name of Iconic lights.

This might be country specific nomenclature.

Here in Canada, the base ones are called "bi-LED" while the optional ones are called "adaptive full LED".

If anyone can find out if it's a simple plug and play swap with coding of course please let us know, for the U.S. the part numbers with option 552 which I'm assuming means with the adaptive headlights since I too have the adaptive LED's now are:

63117478160

63117478159

I'm 99% these are the part numbers I just don't know if I'll need others

Hey there Doctor

I'm glad you have some information on the project, I'm very curious on what all I need and the part numbers I would need to order from realoem.com

Are those modules just additional part numbers I would need and I'm assuming you'll be ordering the adaptive led lights (the new style ones) keep us updated, there's so many different part numbers on realoem.com it's hard to decipher

Sure Alexander,
I will share all the informations..
The LCI Full Adaptive Led are at the dealer already.
The tech checked the fitting with the non LCI bumber of my M4 F82.
Seems fine.
Then I ordered the modules since mine are not fitting at all.
Some are arrived yet and by the end of this week everything will reach the dealer.
Soon I will post the part Numbers ordered.

That's awesome, thank you!

I'm assuming you currently have the lighting package option with the adaptive LED's now so I'm hoping the new LED's as plug and play once you have the modules of course, I'm sure you'll let us know if they need coding and I'm glad they fit fine on the bumper

I'm sure we are all looking forward to pictures, your thoughts on if it's something most of us can install ourselves, part numbers needed and most importantly once you see it in person, is it worth around the $2500 - $2700 this project costs based on my research for new eyes

If you don't mind sharing your source for these parts?

My source says they can't source some of those but maybe I have to order certain parts directly from the dealer

Also if you don't mind could you share what the parts cost you? A PM would be fine

Post pictures please so we can see them!

My source is Bmw wharehouse in my city in Italy.

All the parts cost me 3.000 euro.https://flic.kr/p/TLvXRW

I can't wait to see them on your car, I have a Yas Marina Blue M4 as well so it'll be a perfect comparison, I also like that the lights look darker?

When you compare them to the ones you have now do they have less chrome on them?

Thanks!
