Exporting a GTS to Switzerland?

We have a gentleman wanting to purchase and ship to Switzerland. Has anyone had any experience exporting an M4 GTS? They require a European Certificate of Conformity.

I searched the forum and didn't see anything specifically on the M4 GTS. Thanks in advance for any info.

I am sure a lot of people would be interested to know...
They are still selling for at least twice as much in Europe (Latest example is current video on u-tube “the gloved driver” asking over $200,000). It is really starting to make sense, even if you include the cost of mods, transport and taxes.

Be careful, buying cars for exporting out of the US has some regulations due to US prices being cheaper. I’ve had to sign documents in the past promising not to export a vehicle. Not saying it’s impossible but just make sure you do your research

I'm a dealer in Atlanta. Just trying to help a client out. I'll let you know what we find out. From what I gather so far, he's going to do most the legwork on his end.

I know you guys are always interested in pricing. We got an incredible deal on a perfect 2600 mile car. Priced it at $81,900 and the response has been unreal. Many people calling from all over the country and world.

US spec cars will not get a COC by M GmbH, because like - the name says - they are not conform to Euro spec.
Also there will be no warranty and BMW services are not allowed to do software programming or coding on these cars.

Thank you for the response.

We were told we could get a COC, as the car was manufactured in Europe, and they would show exactly what was changed (bumpers, markers, etc) to make it US spec.

Is there any truth to that?

Our customer is not concerned about the warranty.

If it was true you could order a COC with your VIN at M.

A European COC for a US-Version BMW is not possible to get. But Switzerland has special rules for approving cars imported from the US, so the buyer should be able to get it registered there. https://stva.zh.ch/internet/sicherhe...importUSA.html

I don’t think so... on cars.com there are some for 85k$. Shipping is around 2000 USD to Italy. After duties and VAT we are around 104k EUR. Registering a US spec car is quite expensive so we are probably looking at a 108k EUR total. Still more than 40k EUR cheaper than a ECE car.

Yes, it was just an example... anyway it's probably cheaper to import one there, since their taxes are way lower.

More like 50% of all GTS. They built the most FDG of all the colors.

Selling price plus shipping plus local tax and import fees.

For Germany: Selling Price + Shippig + 29%. Not sure about Switzerland.

The Swiss like chocolate, not cars. I have a great photo of my GTS and myself in the San Bernardino tunnel
