50,000 KM M3-- Needs new brake pads and rotors?

Took my 2016 F80 in for an oil change and I'm being told that the vehicle needs both new pads and rotors on all 4 wheels. At 50,000 KM I am baffled. How is this possible?

Dealership revenue incentive based on measured rotor and pad thickness as defined by the manufacturer.
