Thanks.
I cant comment on the alignment question but yes to the first one.

20 rear is too much, IMHO.

Totally agreed. The equaled the gap front and back which placed the rear a bit too low.

You are going to mess with the toe and will need it re-aligned if you are going from 20 to say 5mm's. You will shred the tires long term if you don't get it adjusted. 15mm's is about .6".

Thanks! I'm planning on playing with the ride height this weekend and getting it aligned and corner balanced a week or two later. I might put 200-300 miles in between and the tires are nearing the end of their life anyway.

Has anyone installed the M suspension on a f80 with 20 inch FI-Rs? On querying the dealer they couldn't confirm the fitment would work with the new wheels.

Everything is installed now (and the rears correct now) but there is this cracking sound coming from the back in slow 90 degree corners. Anybody an idea?

Thx

Fit tested my track tires just to make sure. 275-35-18 NT01 on 18x10" ET25 APEX rims. With 12mm spacer. Plenty of room. Should be fine.

ps: No spacer is definitely iffy though. Would not do it.

Do you think 305 rears on 18x11et44 rim will fit on the back with spacers?

That's what I run with no issues. The kit should have zero impact on the rear fitment.

Thanks. Now I can commit to this kit. I already have wheels ordered and had to make sure the HAS kit would work with em.

Looks better than mine, I have a 3mm spacer for when I put my track wheels back on. Any rubbing on the fender now with a 12mm spacer?

Hi all

I am having this kit installed in a few weeks and I have a question. The install doc shows a wheel dimension measurement, from lip of wheel arch to bottom edge of rim, of 614 mm front and 608 mm rear as the install std for 19 inch wheels. What drop does this represent? I would just measure my current 19s but they are in storage for winter and I have the 18s on which are no help since they are diff size tires than the 18 std. I would like to guide the install to my needs but I do not want to assume these numbers indicate the minimum drop of 5mm for these springs. Thanks for any help

12mm pushes the 275 tires out a bit. Without camber, I would hesitate to go that big. Larryn has run the same setup last year (275 tires and 12mm spacer) with a GC HAS kit without any issues.

The dimensions in the install guide are the LOADED (with 165lb on each front seat) dimension so expect a different number unloaded.

I don't have an exact before an after measurement but expect about 20mm front and 5mm rear drop.

I measured it with/without load, the difference is 4-5mm.

FYI. It looks like 275/35/18 NT-01 on Apex EC-7 18x9.5 (ET22) will fit fine without spacers. I'm not sure how much horizontal deflection the tire will experience on the track but it looks OK.

Tire deflection occurs at the bottom if you will (interface with the road). The main concern is deflection in the upright, wheel bearing/hub and wheel. I used to aim for about 1/4 to 3/8" clearance there on my evo autox car and never had rubbing issues. And that was also mac strut on an 18x9.5 w/285 r compounds.

Thanks. I can fit the tip of my index finger between the tire and perch so I think it's good.

I need a little help from the forum brain trust. I tried to raise the rear up a bit as the dealer set it all the way down. After I jacked up the car and removed the wheels. I could turn the springs by hand but the collar would turn with the perch. I was able to turn one side enough to separate the two with the collar turning slightly but the other side was impossible. They both turned together. Anyone else having the same issue? Is that normal? I would think that the collar should not turn at all. Perhaps i should put a jack under the hub to apply some load to the collar?
Thanks.

On the other comment...index finger was my gauge too.

For the spinning collar, these are single perch and held in place with a set screw. Loosen before adjusting and tighten snug after.

If thats not it most of these threaded coilovers tend to get full of dirt and small rocks in the threads. The result is they wont spin freely to adjust. Try this. Clean the threads under the perch. Take a measurement for reference. Drop the perch down then clean out the threads above. Blow it out with compressed air, wipe it, whatever. Then you should be able to spin it back upwards easily (assuming to spring load).

Thanks but I couldn't see a set screw for the rear, only the front. Threads are very clean so that's not the issue either.
